From $1k a month to $35k in a month for my agency within 6 months.

Hey! My name is Diego.

I'm the founder of Ammo Studio, an Official Webflow Expert Partner. We build and grow Webflow sites for design-centric companies.

It all started back in February 2020. I was working as a security guard doing graveyard shifts and came across the world of design and Webflow. I was instantly blown away by the possibilities as I've tried teaching myself to code with no luck. I didn't do much the rest of the year besides continue to learn and practice and got myself a social media job at a small no-code startup.

A few months into it, we ended up parting ways and as I was searching for other social media roles I realized I like to design and build things more than doing social media. So I stopped searching and in February 2021, a year after discovering no-code and design, I created Ammo.

The first 5 months were extremely difficult. Barely any traction, leads, or revenue. The most I hit in those 5 months was 3k from one deal that was spread over a couple of months. I was so torn about the lack of success that I was 95% ready to quit and find design roles. Luckily I didn't as in August, 6 months into it things exploded and leads were coming faster than I can imagine and I landed to close a good amount which resulted in $35k of generated contract value. Here's a podcast episode I did talking about it.

Lessons I've learned are to be more patient, work hard but don't burn yourself out (take breaks and create boundaries) and believe in yourself.

Dude - insane that you went from a security guard to designing websites on webflow. What sites did you learn to teach yourself and what was the social media job title? I've seen companies hire social media teams but not sure if they just post on twitter or actually create bespoke graphics.

What was the no-code tool you used to build Ammo? What makes you think caused the explosion in growth 6 months in?

Super inspirations story, too. Reading this made feel ready to grind.

Hey! Thank you for the kind words.

I used www.university.webflow.com & found accounts like Timothy Ricks, Payton Clark Smith, 5four Digital, etc to learn about how to build in Webflow and agency tips.

The role was social media & community manager. I did strategy, posting, & created graphics myself (canva or figma) for content.

Glad it inspired you! Really appreciate it.

      1. Finally launched my website (had something easier to point to with my work)
      2. Became friends with founders in my niche who were referring me to other founders
      3. My social media started growing
      4. Did keyword research on Twitter and busted my ass replying to tweets that fit what I'm searching for every day

      Yes sir that is!

Had been putting it off for months (until late July I believe) and just finally made it happen!

Wireframe to jot down ideas and then made it look pretty.

      Thank you!
