Get $12k worth of credit for just $250 while we are in beta

My project allows developers to build chatbots real fast! It was launched last Tuesday in open public beta. Today we have made another release which includes updated docs with howtos etc.

While this project is in beta, we are pre-selling credits at a ridiculously low price and you can get $12k worth of credit for only $250 (only 9 left). Learn more on https://wonop.com or learn about how the system works on https://dev.to/troelsfr/context-aware-chatbots-using-wonop-28n4

My advice - either make this free for beta testers, or don't give away that much - it simply looks fishy, and will make your brand lower in the eyes of the public.

      That is an interesting point.

However, the key reason for the low price is a validation of the market more than anything else. You will already get $35 worth of credits just for signing up which will be lowered to $10 once we are out of beta.

I don't think that's how you'll validate your market, but it's up to you. Good luck!

If you wouldn't validate whether people would buy your product by trying to sell it to them, how would you go about it? I am quite curious to hear your take on this.

This isn't about validation - it's about cheapening your brand from the get go. You're making a 48x discount. To me it's like selling Lamborghini for $100 - even if I don't need one, I may buy one. That won't mean people would ever be willing to pay the full price.

            1. 1

If you buy the product but never use it, I will know so I will have the information that I want. If you buy the product and use it, I will also know. However, if you just on the free plan (which is offered throughout beta), I will never know whether you are just using it because it is free or because you really think it is worth paying for.

Nevertheless, I would still like to hear how you would go about validating that people want to pay for your product during the beta period?

              1. 1

What I talked about from the beginning is how I'd see your offer as a possible user. To me, it seems a weak offer - I may be biased though, clearly.

So - I'm very likely not the best person to ask about " I would still like to hear how you would go about validating that people want to pay for your product during the beta period". This is because I clearly know there's a demand for video editing (my product). There's simply no point for me to ask anyone to buy my product until I have something top notch. This is not the "I'll scrape a beta in 2 days and ask for users" type of product.
