"Get Started" Vs "Get Started for Free" - Which do you think converts better? **Updated with results**

I've been running and A/B test on Songbox and now have a data set of over 2000 sessions. I'm using Google Optimize to run the experiment and the results are in.

Which do you think performed better. I'll post the results when it seems like anyone who wants to have a say, has their say.

Wow. Big difference. I wonder what % of "for free" clickers end up converting to paid.

      1. 2

Yeah I didn't actually measure that.... Will find a way to do that next time.

The next experiment is "Start free trial" vs "Try for free"

  2. 2

I voted for the one @harrydry recommends!

  3. 2

I feel like "Get started for free" sounds like "free trial, to properly use this costs money", and therefore might put people off?

    1. 1

I agree. Is because contains the word Started, and getting started has limit of time.

  4. 1

    I'm a free supporter!

  5. 1

I suspect the “get started” one will get the most clicks. But users visiting the get started page via the “for free” one are probably more likely to actually start a trial.

  6. 1

2nd one but I would prefer using "Try for free" instead.

As UX designer I want to say that this is very hard question, and answer depends. Not all things work for all products in the same way. But, I voted for second. Here is a good read about CTA microcopy: https://neilpatel.com/blog/effective-call-to-action/

  8. 1

I voted for the second one, I feel like many people are more attracted to free things, so there would be a higher chance of people engaging with the product.

  9. 1

Are you sharing the results with voters (via DM maybe?)

I'd go with "Get Started Free" - but always have a price page so people know what the actual cost will be

It's less formal, but proly better - so A/B test that next :D

  10. 1

Do you like free things...I do.
