Getting over my fear by launching a Covid-19 vaccination tracker

I've always been pretty shy and self conscious when it comes to launched a product or side project. Usually I start something full of passion and motivation, but after a couple of days, I begin to doubt myself and end up throwing it all away.

Some of the problems I usually face:

  • Fear of negative comments
  • Wanting it to be perfect from the start
  • Fear of being seen as a copy cat

So I'm super happy I finally managed to launch Covid-19 vaccination tracker, it's not the typical product you see on here, but it finally helped me getting over some of these fears.

It still took way longer than it should've, mostly because I still wanted it to be perfect. But I ended up settling on an MVP, and made changes over the next few days.

Thanks, I know it seems small compared to some other projects here, but one step at a time.

    Good job, man! 👍

Re feedback: I try to view it from the following viewpoint: I'm running an experiment. I'm putting something out into the world that I know isn't perfect. Then I ask people for feedback to turn it into something that's actually good.

This removes the burden of perfectionism.

Thanks! That’s definitely a good way to look at it.
