Giveaway promotion advice?

Hi all. The project I am working on (nearbymaker.com) is currently figuring out the best way to do a giveaway through instagram. Has anyone had any success with this kind of thing? Any helpful advice to share? Thanks in advance.

    There's a whole playbook on how to do giveaways on Instagram. If I remember correctly the rules were like:

    • Maximize your visibility by making sure your post is shared as a story
    • Have you giveaway contestants, tag their friends under your post for a higher chance to win
    • Have them follow another account as part of the giveaway rules, so you can grow a 2nd insta channel for the price of 1 giveaway
    • make sure your giveaway sounds like something concrete to be redeemed, won - or no one will participate (don't offer up a Ferrari for example - well unless you're really going to give one away)
