Giving away free marketing expertise today

hi folks,

my observation: there is a lot of resistance to marketing on the forums here.

about me: i am a performance marketer. my core competencies lie in growth marketing, seo, and analytics.

i use these skills to grow businesses as fast as humanely possible - in a sustainable way.

id be more than happy to help you out with marketing your business, product or service if that is what you desire.

pop your most pressing question in the comments and ill get you sorted out.

+1 on resistance to marketing. As a marketer, I find it's usually the creepy, unethical "bad-taste-in-your-mouth" marketing that we've all experienced that leads to this. Great marketing is so simple and "clicks" that you hardly even realize it's marketing.

My favorite podcast on marketing is literally called Everyone Hates Marketers (check it out, highly recommend for founders/marketers https://www.everyonehatesmarketers.com/)

Hello IndigoBlue, thanks for your nice offer! Our community (which also happens to be a relatively sustainable business) is considered as 'NSFW' for the Facebook group (FB, IG, WhatsApp...). Hence we can't advertise on their platforms. If you have a quick look at our website, you will need we're not NSFW per se.

What would be a workaround to be able to have paid ads on FB and IG?

@LVRSNFRNDS thanks for reaching out. i need some more information before we go further.

      could you:

      1. share the link to your website with me
      2. help me understand why you want to use paid advertising on Fb + IG specifically (compared to other platforms), and what your goals for paid advertising in general are

      thanks!

        Thanks a lot @indigoblue !

        2. Our goal is to have more visits from targeted audiences on our website, IG was our main interest as we already drive visitors from our IG account https://www.instagram.com/lvrsnfrnds/

Hi, is this something you would like to do on a daily basis?. I'm asking because I started a small project to help other devs and entrepreneurs by having one-to-one calls consultancy sessions.

Let me know if you're interested and I can share the link with you. There's no money involved.

    1. 1

@gdi3d im interested. please share the link

      1. 1

Hey, did you have time to look at the project?

    Hey IndigoBlue,

I recently had my 3rd account disabled by Facebook this month. This one lasted the longest at 1 week and I just launched my SaaS as well. I got a purchase using Facebook ads but now am banned from using it due to an unknown community guideline violation that’s been stopping me from using them for years.

What other ad platforms and marketing sources would you recommend in the absence of Facebook ads? Thanks in advance.

Hi, how would you market loose leaf teas to software developers? Most developers I know are into coffee. I believe there is an opportunity for high quality tea to gain popularity within the tech community. Tea has a lot of benefits over coffee: it has similar caffeine content yet it ramps you up without the crash or jitters. There is also an opportunity to explore many different flavor profiles via tea blends. Anyways, that's my pitch on tea, thanks!

    Hey

I recently created https://numerosganadorespr.com/ and the website shows the Puerto Rico lottery players the relevant winning numbers.

What would you do to monetize?

    Thanks!

    Hi IndigoBlue,

I really appreciate your expertise on my recent launched website https://makerstack.club/. I am building a community of makers, coders, no-coders, indie hackers and digital nomads. I want to give quick access to their github, twitter, product hunt, indie hackers and product pages. My goal is to make it possible to quickly find capable team members (based on their skills) for a maker collaboration.

My question for you is what would be the best way to grow the list of makers on my website? I am thinking of contacting some existing communities, considering I already got some positive feedback on the idea.

    Hey IndigoBlue!
Thanks for offering this expertise, feeling grateful to be a part of the IH community today.

We are about to launch our new product called MonkeyFeet (website still private), which allows users to lift standard dumbbells with their feet in order to workout. Our advantage is that the product is a first-of-its-kind.

We plan to hit all kinds of marketing techniques for our launch, but we are still fairly bootstrapped. With all that said, what would you focus on the most?

Thanks in advance and let me know if you need more info!

      @dirtjackson,

when you say you're going to use 'all kinds of marketing techniques' for your launch, i worry that you and the team will stretch yourself too thin and only accomplish shallow work/results.

i would focus on coordinating a team effort on just 1 or 2 marketing strategies/tactics that you know to be highly effective.

      thoughts?

      1. 1

I can definitely see the merit to that. Most of our focus to date has been on Instagram, since the fitness community is very interactive on there. My business partner is a professional fighter, so he has quite a few high tier influencers that we plan to involve in our launch.

Off the top of my head, Instagram would be my answer to what we would "focus" on most. We weren't planning to do fb/insta ads just yet, but can possibly be swayed.

        Feedback appreciated:)

In my free time, I've worked on a web application that provides users detailed information about recipes/dishes.
Its not done yet, development version: https://ingredient-git-development.prottoy2938.now.sh/

    Whats your thought?

    1. 1

its good.....needs a nice title right there at the top to let people know what it is and who you are!

    Hey @indigoblue, thanks!

I've recently developed a platform (https://www.livetribe.club) that aims to provide a global and safe online marketplace for live entertainers (such as djs & musicians) and potential clients, streamlining the booking process and enabling economic opportunity worldwide.

We are starting in South Florida, where my business partner already has connections and an entertainment agency (which couldn't grow further).

Still, since this business is connected to nightlife/party and son, we should be strong on Instagram. How can we get more followers? We are consistently posting everyday and trying to interact with different accounts (artists/venues/businesses).

    Thank you so much!

    1. 1

@aguscacciola can you expand on why it is that you need a higher quantity of followers?

the answer to your question is simple: develop relationships with people in the industry on IG. its a long term sustainable play that starts compounding after a while, resulting in a massive landslide of results.

@bsawyer whats the goal here with this app? ie downloads? and who is your audience?

      initial notes:

      • looking at your medium post, it appears this idea was validated by your needs, rather than the needs of your audience. am i wrong?
      • website messaging needs more context.
      • its a total dead end when i enter my email to sign up. im having a hard time figuring out the next step. i dont get an email that tells me anything, which i was expecting.

          @bsawyer

you mentioned the audience is composed of two segments:

          A) people who want to make extra money by teaching others their hobby
          B) people wanting to get into a hobby during quarantine times but need more guidance than just self starting stuff e.g. youtube videos, reddit posts, etc.

one strategy of highly effective marketing is to market to your audience where they hang out.

whats awesome is that you already know where audience b hangs out: on youtube and reddit!

if i were you, i would focus on creating brand awareness and relationships with your audience on those two platforms. you'll be able to get leads waaaay more easy than putting your effort into medium, product hunt, or indiehackers.
