Got an unsolicited offer for sponsoring my community!

I just got my first offer for sponsoring Local SEO Community, and it was completely unsolicited.

I thanked him and told him that I'm not looking to add any sponsors at this time.

However, it's awesome to know that he sees so much value in the community that he'd be willing to pay money to sponsor it.

My plan was always to turn Local SEO Community into a paid membership community once we hit 1,000 members (we're at 746 right now), but this has made me realize there are other potential avenues.

Not sure what I'll do, but for now I'm just focused on growing the community and making it an active and engaging place.

I'm confident that monetization will work itself out 😊

I don't think this would have happened if your group was on Reddit/FB. They see you "own" the entire web property/the potential.

      Hey Darko, definitely agree!

Also there is a weekly email recapping the top posts, so I could customize that to have sponsor info at the top if I wanted to go that route.

With FB groups or subreddits, you don't get those email addresses, so it is more of "borrowed media" than "owned media".

Congrats, Davis! Certainly something to consider in the future, perhaps. Wishing you continued success.

      Thanks Stephanie!

Congrats! It sure is nice to find you can monetize some ways.
I'm not trying to butt in to your decision. But since there's demand, I feel like you should at least experiment with various monetizations? Diversifying makes your business resilient.

Definitely open to it! But for now, just focused on growing the community and making it a place where people want to be
