Hi fellow IH,
I'm researching for my next venue, which could be will be a grammar checker App leveraging machine learning and rule based grammar checking.
I'm planning on releasing first an MVP as a web-app. Later on, I would make an iOS Editor App and iOS grammar checker keyboard (This is partially done, because of my other keyboard App).
According to 22 immutable rules of marketing you need to be first on the market. If you cant be first, you need to chase a new category.
The king of english grammar checking, is Grammarly. It's huge and also has a really good product. There are a few other players, but much smaller. I'm searching for ways to differentiate my grammar App.
Spanish is my native language. Build a Spanish Grammar Checker which would be smaller market with much less competition (which is good a thing but maybe it's too small) can be hard from the tech standpoint there is few datasets to train the AI model.
Focus on Privacy First Products, like simpleanalytics.com from @adriaanvanrossum or the recent released hey.com from Basecamp. (Not sure if Grammarly classifies as a behemoth like Google and the grammar checker users care about privacy)
Maybe is possible to compete on pricing and not using the freemium model.

Thank you for your time
Why not mirror Grammarly for Spanish, build a customer base, and try to sell it to them?
Thank you Julian! I'm thinking about going the Spanish route, there should be some users trying to fix Spanish grammar. I'm doing a landing page to see if there is interest.
