Growth Bite: Remove all nonessential links from sales pages to increase conversions

To increase conversions, do away with the navigation menu and other distracting links on landing and checkout pages.

When Yuppiechef did this, their conversion rate doubled from 3% to 6%. Any link on a conversion-focused page is a possible distraction from the conversion, making it more likely that potential customers will wander off.

Hi there, thanks for the tip! What do you mean by "do away with the navigation menu"? Removing irrelevant items in the navigation bar?

    1. 1

Not just removing irrelevant items in the navigation bar — YuppieChef actually removed the entire navigation bar on these pages.

Can anyone find an example where yuppiechef did this? their current landingpage has tons of links https://www.yuppiechef.com/

    1. 1

That's their homepage. Nothing wrong with having links there — most companies do!

This growth bite refers specifically to landing pages and checkout flows. Landing pages are often confused with homepages but they're different — in short, they are pages where visitors from specific sources can complete specific actions. I don't have links to YuppieChef's landing pages, but you can check out the source material here if you like.

      Hope that helps 👍
