2020 is tough for all. The COVID has caused abrupt changes in everything. Some maybe an acceleration towards the inevitable.
I am thankful that I'm still alive, healthy, and had the opportunity to work harder during the pandemic. Working from home saves me hours of commute every day; my decision to move farther away from the city proved to be the right one.
I am thankful that the decision I made to deep dive into the blockchain technology has finally started to pay off. Despite that I missed all the opportunities to invest because I was either broke or had my eyes on other failed ventures, I invested in myself in the skill sets that will be relevant and in-demand in the near future.
I am thankful that I have met great mentors who taught me to safeguard my time and manage my focus. I stopped listening to news and stopped being emotional about the events in the world that is out of my control. Instead, I focused my energy on improving myself; not to put hope and expectations on circumstances or other people, only on the things I can control--my time and my focus.
It has been a long year as every day I am in the trenches and it feels like forever. Maybe it's true that working in the blockchain industry ages you 20 years in a calendar year. If that is indeed true, I hope at least that I am not only older but also wiser.
The journey has just begun, the excitement of seeing the projects coming to life is not something words can describe; and it brings more clarity, and makes me more motivated.
2020 is tough, and there're still 5 more weeks that I can push forward progresses, and that's the only way I want to end this year. "When the going gets tough, the tough get going!"
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. --Martin Luther King, Jr.
