Have you thought about email course?

Hey everyone,

If you have a newsletter with hundreds or thousands of subscriber, would you consider start an email course? Here are some benefits for writers and readers that I can think of

Writer:
(1) Don't have to invest a lot of time and money to build a course upfront. You can design a syllabus and build lessons on the go.
(2 )Distribute knowledge directly to people who care.
(3) Customise your course weekly by taking learner's input into account.
(4) After one first course, you will have ever-green content that sells itself. Maybe you need to customise a bit every few months but the hard work has been done.

Readers:
(1) Have more tangible values and more concrete benefits. Newsletter is great but content is fragmented so it's more or less like a collection of information. A course is more structured so the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
(2) All benefits of newsletter. Readers are able to have more direct relationship with writers , involve in content creation, and participate in a private and safe community. All of these are missed in MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) like ones on Udemy.

Having said that, there are problems:
(1) It is hard to categorise email/newsletter content like you can do with a course.
(2) When readers reply your email to answer your question, ask a good one, or submit their assignments, it often goes to your mailbox only. This is a missed opportunity for building a community.
(3) Your mailbox can get too messy to manage.

Please let me know how you think about this. If you're interested, please let me know if I can drop you an email as I am building a service that helps you have all the pros and eliminate most the cons. Or you can drop me an email in my bio.

Or you can give me your emai via this substack, and I will contact you in due course.
