Healthcare SaaS Application

Good morning,

I am in the initial stages of building a web hosted app. I come from over 10 years in a healthcare supply chain background and would like to develop a marketplace specifically tailored to this industry. A few questions:

  1. What would you recommend for the front-end? E.g. Javascript/Nodejs
  2. Backend? Options Python/Djano...what else?
  3. Pros/Cons utilizing companies such as Bubble.io & Budibase to expedite development?
  4. Anticipated timelines for production of an MVP marketplace? Beginner vs. Expert?
  5. Any other tips questions you may have I'm open to feedback!

Cheers

    Hi Michael,
Thank you for posting the question. In my opinion, for a full-fledged SaaS development I would recommend the following tech stack:

    1. MongoDB - To store records of users and other entities.
    2. Express JS - To create a REST API. REST API is an interface between a frontend and a backend
    3. React JS - A Frontend JavaScript to build beautiful user interfaces. Connect front end to the backend server using express JS.
    4. NodeJS - A server backend JavaScript language to communicate with the MongoDB.

These are the open source tools. You don't need to pay a single dollar. However, if you decide to code yourself, you need to invest some time in learning the tech stack. Else you need to hire a programmer who are expert in the tech stack.

If you ever plan to have a mobile based SaaS app then Android, Flutter, React Native, IOS are the tech you need to consider.

    Thank you.

Hi Sam thanks for the great resources you listed above. I think ultimately I'd like to prioritize the build and bring in the right resources once we can raise our initial round. I think ultimately this is going to be a web hosted application as I know there are space limitations on mobile. I envision the platform to eventually have multiple features for users to connect and collaborate but would be interested to see what will fit on mobile vs. desktop and compatibility across platforms.

Maybe more information about the idea would help.
