Help IH: What's 1) your product and 2) your top goal right now?

Hey everybody! I really liked @BraydenTW's post where everyone's sharing their products, and I found myself wanting more. I want to follow your product... And I also want to help you with it in some way that matters to you.

Here on IH we've got developers, marketers, managers, tinkerers, you name it. Post 1) your product and 2) your top goal for it right now, and no matter what your goal is I bet there's someone here who could offer pointers. What do you say?

I'll start:

  1. My product is Shoutworks, the fastest + easiest no-code Alexa skill creator.
  2. Right now my top goal is getting users. We've got about 30 at the moment, some really like it. I'm experimenting with ways to get more--mainly email marketing, social, partnerships with affiliates and "influencers".

Now you!

    1. Our product is Dorik - Single Page Website Builder

    2. Right now our main priority is preparing it for the launch.

    1. 3

Awesome. Just signed up! Looks really cool. So working mainly on the product side then?

      1. 1

        Hey Christian,

I have sent you an email with the early access details. 🙌

      2. 1

Thanks for signing up. I will send you the early access details soon. :-)

Yes, mainly we are adding some key features and rolling them out to our easy users to use and test.

      1. Working on Stiggy - Q&A with Animojis, with a focus on mental fitness

      2. Finding more users to join our TestFlight and gather feedback

      1. 2

Sounds interesting - can you say a bit more? What is the Q&A part about?

        1. 2

It's about sharing struggles we are facing or have faced in areas like work/relationships/caregiving etc. And learn from others' similar experiences.

          1. 2

Ahh got it, that's cool. Are you matched randomly, or is it self-selecting groups?

            1. 2

For now, It's an open forum.

    3. 1

I was looking for a landing page builder recently, and your landing page doesn't clearly answer the biggest question I had - Can you download the static files of a landing page you create.

From what I see, you require people to host their landing page with you, making it more difficult to integrate with an existing site.

      1. 1

        Hey @DCudmore

Thanks for your comment. Yes you can export HTML/CSS/JS. It's disabled for the beta version. It will be available before launch. :-)

    Hi @Christpetron 🙌

    1. Working on a note taking tool that allows you to reference concepts and snippets of text from other documents, Google docs and Gmail - https://imgur.com/idhH5y3

    2. Main priority is to get as much validation while building it.

    1. 2

Definitely a product I would use and need. Let me know when you launch!

      1. 1

Thanks! Planning to release the first version in a few weeks.

  3. 5

    Hi @Christpetron 👋

    1. My side project - Owwly helps products/startups share their daily basis progress, successes and failures.
    2. The main goal for me is to activate logged in users to post more interesting content
    1. 1

Really nicely done on the product - it's beautiful! I just signed up and took a look around. It seems like a great place to discover products.

Assuming you want people to share more daily progress right? Just a thought - maybe you need to give people a better reason to post those things. I know a lot of people post their progress to IH because they know there's an active community here who will like the post, engage with their company, etc. So every progress post is actually an excuse to market your product. Maybe you could experiment with something similar?

      1. 2

Yep, you are totally right. I am thinking about some kind of gamification and competition between people - that could boost traffic and engagement as well :)

        1. 1

Update: Our site got a bunch of traffic from owwly. Thanks! Really cool!

          1. 1

So nice to hear that 💪 you can still post about your product's progress, successes, failures, learnings ect. Everything what makes you and your tool better 😉

    1. Product: Snapfont - Preview fonts on live websites.
    2. Goal: User growth.
    1. 1

Really cool product. Can definitely see using this if I were a full-time designer. Who have been your best users so far? As in, who has found the most value from it?

      1. 2

Thanks man! Various people including some big names such as Chris Coyier have used it. But its been mostly web designers who found the most use for it so far.

        1. 1

Nice! Have you had any success getting them to share about it?

  5. 4

Hi, Shoutworks looks like a great products and I must say it's a great niche and I definitely see it growing rapidly in the future.

    1. My product is Knowhup : It's a technical wiki for developer or developer teams
    2. I'm trying to gauge market interest in the product at the moment. So, if anyone likes Knowhup and would like to try it out, please sign up for the MVP.
    1. 2

Hi, looks like great, but I think sign up button is not working right now.

      1. 1

Hi @ede, sorry you faced an issue with the signup. Did you get an error popup? I just checked - it was working for me.
If you could please let me know what happened when you clicked on the button - I'll fix it right away.

It's an issue with my ga events.

Thank you so much for taking the effort for this, @ede! I appreciate it. Have fixed it. You can sign up now :)

            1. 1

Hi, I think the issue is related to adblock extensions. After I disabled the ublock, sign up works otherwise still it doesnt.

You can test with ublock installed chrome.

              1. 1

                Okay thanks, will check.

    2. 2

Hey Rob, I've signed up to give it a test - only two on our team and we're currently using notion for a lot of this, but that's quickly getting out of hand.

Where to keep the knowledge base is a common argument at the start of every project so hopefully Knowhup can become a defacto standard for us.

Any plans to share a CLI for it - I know some teams who would love to be able to manage it all from within the terminal... Just a thought.

I'd really appreciate any feedback you could offer on https://jumpon.io/ - it's a meeting tool that's meant to help make conversation easier and more efficient.

      1. 2

Hi Matt, thanks for signing up!

Regarding your knowledge base dilemma - I've been there! That's how knowhup was born actually :)

As for a CLI - yes there are absolutely plans to have one. Am planning to start working on it right after the MVP goes live.

I checked the website of Jumpon - very interesting tool! If I can offer a suggestion - it would be helpful if you write ( In one sentence, preferably ) about exactly what it is, and what it does. I think it would help a bit with the conversions - I had to scroll down quite a bit to understand it completely.

Also - which current meeting tools does it work with?

        1. 1

          Thanks for the feedback Rob.

I'll be rewording / reworking the landing page as a priority thanks to the feedback from IH!

The tool is currently meant to be used alongside any video conferencing that you use (i.e. it's just a new browser window) - clearly that isn't clear from the landing page!!

    3. 1

sound interesting, i just signed up!

    4. 1

Thanks, looks cool. I like the idea of a technical wiki. I run a software dev agency so something like that, that's user friendly with the right automations, could be useful.

I just looked at the site - love the video! But I'm not sure how this would beat something like Notion or just plain Google docs. Does it connect with your github? Being able to link between the codebase and the wiki would be pretty cool.

      1. 2

Hi, and thanks for your feedback!
I'm a software dev myself, so it is actually a solution to a problem I had faced.

I had tried out Notion and google docs both. With Notion, it was too general purpose for my taste - in the middle of writing code, I found that I lost focus when I tried to search to search for something in a collection of all kinds of notes.

With google docs it was better, but quickly found that I needed a better way to organise my notes. Hence, Knowhup was built with the ability to add tags and create teams, along with diagrams, code highlighters, etc.

Integrations are a big part of my roadmap. So yes, connections to github, bitbucket, etc. are definitely in the pipeline (I'm open to more suggestions anytime!)

        1. 1

I see, okay I can definitely see it now. Was actually just discussing this in our team. Just signed up!

  6. 3

    Love this!

If anyone needs help with SEO/content marketing let me know! Happy to help :)

    1. My product: Centori, it's a web app that helps beginners and small teams be better at SEO
2)We're getting a decent amount of signups but activation is hard, so trying to gather as much feedback as possible to refine the features, onboarding, and ux so users can get value from the platform and stick with it.
    1. 1

Ah yeah, great product! I tried it but got paywalled before I got any value from the keyword search. For a total noob, it might be hard to figure out what keywords even matter!

      1. 2

        Thanks Christian!

That's odd as I can't seem to find your account (could be something weird on our end?) either way I'd love to know a bit more about your experience as we're really trying to hone in on helping folks brand new to SEO get up to speed and start seeing success with it. Would it be cool if I ask you a few questions over email?

        1. 1

          totally, happy to help!

  7. 2

I'm developing FlockIn (https://www.flockin.co) - a community for your daily check-ins. My current goal is getting users as well and growing the brand.

    1. 1

Just coming back to this... This is a great landing page. Seriously. How are you doing on users?

      1. 2

Thanks, @Christpetron! I've got 12 subs at the moment. I bet it's a matter of perspective, so one could say no so great, but on the other hand it's decent if they all convert to actual users.

Also, I haven't done much promotion, as after a few convos I've decided to launch with a minimal feature set. When I do launch, I'll push the promotions/sales/marketing a bit more.

        1. 1

Nice! Sounds like a good plan. Crazy idea: What do you think about doing a pre-launch whatsapp group for early users?

          1. 1

Hm, didn't think about this really. I'd need to think more about it, as I'm not completely sure how to utilise it at the moment. The point is that users don't need this channel for themselves, mostly for me to reach out - but then I also have their email.

            Meditate on this I will.

            Thanks!

    1. I'm working on Letterbase, a customer support tool for solopreneurs + bootstrapped startups.
    2. My top priority is to get more feedback and prepare for launch!
    1. 1

Looks really cool! Love how simple the landing page is. How's launch going?

      1. 2

Thank you! I pivoted recently to focus more on the Messenger experience, and I'm building more features to make it more compelling :)

  9. 2
    1. Solo founder here, my product is Dezilo it is SaaS based Studio Management platform for Interior Designers and Decorator
    2. I launched this last week and right now i have got lots of great response but 0 customers so far, thus grinding to get paying customers !
  10. 2

1- product is http://wolf-tm.com/en/ -digital courses about hacking, penetration testing
2- goal is marketing to get customers

  11. 2
    1. My service is http://adslate.co.uk/products/MLF2.php , "Minimum Localized Funnel" - A service to test new markets before committing to full-on website or software localization. We translate social and search ads, landing pages, email outreach etc into the most popular European languages.

    2. Top goal is getting users. I’ve literally just launched now. Any feedback or ideas appreciated!

  12. 2

Our product is habitate.io - create the community support center on your website where your customers can engage in discussions, polls, AMA's, and much more.

Right now, our goal is to onboard more customers. We are live on less than a dozen sites.

  13. 2
    1. Mine is https://stackselect.tech - not really a product yet since I'm not selling anything
    2. I'm working out how to make it as useful as possible, and to grow visitors
    1. 1

Interesting concept - though it took me a minute to figure out the value. When I first see the page I see a bunch of boxes but I have no idea what they're for, or how they're related - then I see the logo and header text 'select the tools for your next stack' and I put it together. I'd recommend increasing the size of your heading text (make it an h1) so first-time visitors are drawn to it rather than the boxes right away.

I can definitely see the value here, especially for folks newer to development or overwhelmed my options for a stack, what have you tried to do in order to grow visitors to the site?

      1. 1

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I think a hero section of some sort would be really useful, though just increasing the size might be a useful first step.

In terms of how I've tried to grow it so far, it's less than a month old. I've had the underlying list in Airtable for ages, but only turned it into a site while I've had a little more free time.

So far that's been very transient social traffic, like when I post something on IH, or a tweet is retweeted by an account with a decent following. I've been trying to do a little more long-form content, but that's going to take time both to do and to see any returns.

I'm pretty new to figuring out how to market and grow something, so that's my next challenge, and I'll take any and all advice I can get there!

        1. 1

No problem! I think it'd go a long way towards helping explain the site.

That's a pretty good start, anything that helps in getting people to look at your site and spend time is helpful. What do you use to track analytics on your site?

How is the longform content coming? I don't see any content on your site, is it published somewhere else or being drafted? Content strategy and SEO can be pretty intimidating, but really it's about telling a story which requires you to:

          1. Know your audience
          2. Know the questions they are asking
          3. Create good content that answers those questions

And that's about it (for beginners, it obviously gets more advanced from there). If you're stumped on content ideas, I'd browse questions here, Quora, or reddit as I imagine your audience is on those sites too and that'll give you some good blog post ideas. Google's job is to provide content that answers questions, so the best way to get traction is to start answering questions and get noticed.

          1. 1

All the analytics are public: https://simpleanalytics.com/stackselect.tech

For longform content, I've done 2 so far. One is a bit of a guide for how to approach building a side project and one is about how the site itself is hosted on render.

The render one is linked to on the page which lists render. For now, as I don't have lots, I'm not listing them all anywhere. My plan is that these will serve as extra info for a tool someone might be considering, but also potentially drive traffic to the site.

For example, I only released the search today, so I might write a little about how that works, along with a new listing on the site.

Thanks again for a really detailed reply 👍

            1. 1

Nice! Sounds like you're off to a good start, I'd recommend having a post listing page as it helps for easy site navigation, but also discoverability for Google to crawl and index the posts.

And no problem! I've been working on an SEO project for a while so I love chatting with folks about marketing and seeing what they're trying to do.

    1. Working on iconsizer - The goal is to help developers get all sizes for their app icons for different devices in seconds.
    2. Right now my main goal is to get users while working on it. I have a form on the website that users can use to get notified when we launch.
  15. 2
    1. Our product is Feedback52.com - A free realtime employee survey with one question per week
    2. Current goal is to convert more visitors to customers

The product is at MVP, but before investing more time and money, I need to know that this solves a problem.

  16. 2
    1. My product is Lingohackers - language learning community where you can find language buddies, practice and achieve your goals.
    2. Top goal is to get more users. I'm looking into different forums where I can post and share it without breaking the rules. Yesterday I got a contact to an "influencer", which hopefully could help spread the word.
  17. 2

I launched my first e-commerce on my platform last week, we are selling Belgian Beer internationally on Belgian Brewed and with > 900 beers, we have the widest range of Belgian Beers online :)

Since soft-launch, orders already came in from Denmark, Italy, Spain, Malta, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.

I already created a new post on what happened since launch, since we launched earlier than expected.

  18. 2
    1. My business partner and I are working on PRBoard - pull request dashboard for team that host their code on GitHub
    2. We're trying to raise some interest in our product so there are teams that start using it on regular basis.
    1. 2

Really cool! I'll share this with my CTO, might be useful for us.

      1. 1

Hey Christian, thank you! We'd actually appreciate any feedback or thoughts on how to improve the product 🙌

    2. 1

Ivan - thank you so much for the JumpOn feedback.

PRBoard looks great, and I think would have been really useful to the team I used to work with. Though their code was in gitlab so not sure if it's possible for them to use it?

I would say the only barrier / question I would have at this point is what sort of pricing do you envisage when it goes live? I wouldn't want to put a tool into the workflow now, not knowing at least roughly what it might cost in the future. Even if you could highlight a ballpark figure, or how your pricing model is likely to work it might help me make a rough assessment.

For example, we previously had around 50 repos and around 30 devs - if your cost is /user /month even a small figure could ramp up quickly.

    1. Before90s a newsletter with insights from pre-90s companies for founders

    2. My main goal in write articles and insights useful for readers

    1. 1

Really cool. Why pre-90s? What did they have that post-90s companies don't?

      1. 2

Well, my motivation to start is my curiosity, as every now and then I caught myself reading/watching something about those companies. Everything seemed to be more complicated for them. Things we nowadays take for granted like payments, distribution, influencers, how to start the company.

  20. 2
    1. My product is Dcolinspire, the easiest way to find inspirational quotes to stay motivated.

    2. My top goal is to increase the number of daily users.

  21. 2
    1. My product is checknlearn - web browser extension + mobile app that helps in better adoption of new vocabulary. I like to call it "Vocabulary increaser".
    2. I just finished the MVP. It's time to get feedback from people and increase the user base.
    1. 1

I love this idea, I would love to use it for learning French!

I just tried to sign up but it didn't redirect me to the login page after I created my account, then when I tried to log in it said I need to activate my account by clicking on an email - which I haven't received (checked spam)

      1. 2

Thanks for checking Christian! I activated your account manually as I see the email didn't go out from my server 😳I'll have to verify that.

... and supporting French now lands in my TODO list ;)

  22. 2
    1. Spotista – A newsletter that sends you periodic reports on your Spotify listening statistics.
    2. Growing –while adding more cool features– is the priority at the moment. Currently just above 50 users.

Very interesting to discover Shoutworks, Christian! Not an Alexa user but I bet this can definitely be useful for many people. Are there many other companies in this space?

    1. 1

      Cool idea. Just signed up.

A thought - doing cross promotions with other music newsletters might be an idea to grow. I don't get many but one that might be up for doing a shout out is https://albumdaily.com/

      1. 1

Awesome! It's cool that you mention Album Daily cause I have actually been following them for a while now. I hadn't considered it for Spotista, but I did think that it would be cool to collaborate with them for BIG? NOT YET, another newsletter I run along with fellow music lovers, which features up and coming talented artists. I'm just afraid that we might still be too small for Album Daily (we are at ~100 subscribers right now). Thank you Paul for subscribing, and appreciate your tip, will try to find other music related newsletters that could potentially match with Spotista or BIG? NOT YET :)

    2. 1

Cool product! I love the design. Just signed up.

Thanks! There are a few, but the major one is Voiceflow. They have an awesome & very customizable editor. Shoutworks is different in that it doesn't require learning any technical terminology at all (intents, invocation, etc) and makes it dead simple to create an Alexa skill. Would love to hear your thoughts - if you want I can spin you up a sandbox WordPress site to play around with Shoutworks in!

      1. 1

Thanks so much for signing up for Spotista Christian! Glad you find it cool :)

And okay I see, it's cool you made it so easy! Appreciate that you offer me to try it out. If you have it already configured I wouldn't mind checking it out, but if you have to specifically create it for me no worries. It's currently not in my plans to create Alexa skills –at least for the moment– and I'd feel bad if you spend time to configure it for me instead of dedicating it to someone else who perhaps is already interested in building Alexa skills. Maybe I could let you know in the future in case I become more interested in the subject.

    1. My product is Tranzlate, localization management platform. I created it as a result of my own needs with client projects.

    2. Top goal is getting users. Does not have to be paid, although that would be great. I want more feedback from other people in similar positions and their specific localization needs.

    1. 1

Really nice product! I can also personally say this is a very painful problem, our English-speaking dev teams have built quite a few products for French clients, and translation seems like such a simple step but always takes way more time than it seems like it should. And managing the whole thing in a google doc or spreadsheet... Super frustrating. I just signed up - will definitely give this a try next time we are doing localization!

      1. 2

        Thanks!

Ah yes, I hated having to copy and paste everything from Google Sheets. Sounds great! Would love to hear what your specific needs are. Let me know if you need anything regarding localization.

  24. 2

    Great topic!

    1. I created a free (no download required) resource called http://pregrowth.guide to help businesses like yours attract users
    2. My top goal is to get feedback on whether good folks like you actually find it helpful and what you think about the approach

In a nutshell, the guide above explains how to position and sell your business to a cold audience (someone who has never seen or heard of you before).

I've worked with a few other startups and found that after you nail your messaging, 'how to grow' begins to feel more natural and less like a guess.

If you could take a look and let me know what you think, I'd be very grateful.

    1. 2

Love this. It's timely for a lot of us! For me as well, I'm filling out your "Zero BS Landing Page Worksheet" as we speak - super useful, thank you!

      1. 2

Very encouraging to hear. Thank you! If any other feedback comes to mind, I'm all ears :)

  25. 2
    1. poptin.com - Lead capture platform
      goprospero.com - Business proposal software
premio.io - WP and Shopify plugins
saasplace.io - Marketplace for buying and selling SaaS products and side projects
      and some other small ones

    2. Trying to find great entrepreneurs to invest in.

  26. 2

    Hey Christian!

    1. My product is waterdeep.io - A scratchpad for developers.
    2. Top goal right now is get 5 users coming back to use the product for user validation and feedback.
    1. 1

Cool concept! How did you get the users? What have you done so far to engage them? For those that aren't coming back, have they given any feedback?

      1. 1

Actually, I had around 30 signups when I originally launched, I'll reach out to those who signed up to see what they think.

To get the first users I posted here on IH and on Hacker News as well and the post drew some attention.

    Hey christian!

    1. My product is a Website Builder 🛠 that connects to airtable 📗, It's still WIP, and I'm tweeting about my progress every day.

    .

    1. Right now my goal is to complete a basic MVP. So I can get started with onboarding early adopters and then eventually plan for a big release! I'm excited to see where this goes and will make it the best in the space!⚡
    1. 1

Awesome. I would totally use this!

  34. 2
    1. My product is Speckled, a prioritization tool for product people

    2. My top goal is to get the MVP out — ideally within the next month. Although I've been spending too much time building and not enough doing marketing. So...this week I'm rewriting all the copy on my homepage and creating product gifs, and doing some blog post writing.

    1. 2

Speckled seems really neat, just signed up. It's a tool I would definitely use. We manage a bunch of roadmaps for different client projects, would be nice to be able to have it automatic like this. The homepage copy isn't bad at all!

  35. 2

I'll check out Shoutworks shortly and post some feedback - lovely idea getting everyone involved.

    1. My product is https://jumpon.io/ - it helps you turn video meetings into smooth conversations.

    2. Right now I need users to test it out - one-on-one demos are getting us good feedback, but we need a team of 3+ to use it for real and tell us whether it worked for them, and what they'd like to see.

    1. 2

      Some feedback on Jumpon:

      1. I like the slogan at the top, but it doesn't tell me what it is. I found myself pretty much ignoring the top section and scrolling down to find out what JumpOn really is.
      2. I'm still not quite sure how it would work with my current meeting tool - is it something you use in parallel to zoom? Or does it replace zoom entirely? A gif screen demo would work wonders here i think!
      3. I feel like I finally "got it" when I got to the bottom section, Features. Live reactions, jellyfish, all that stuff is awesome - and more importantly, drives home the value of the product (or what I think it is). Just heard someone mention that video meetings are more psychologically taxing because we're not getting the body language and subtle audio cues we're used to. Something like JumpOn adds a bit of that context back.
      1. 1

Thanks for this - it's awesome.

We definitely need to rethink the landing page.

If I could steal a couple of more minutes of your time - does this gif on the meeting lobby page show the product better? https://jumpon.io/np3h-8pck-yqf2

Is that what you meant by gif screen demo? I guess if so we should bring that content up a level too!

        Thanks again.

        1. 1

No problem! That gif is better - but I'm still not sure whether it's a standalone or whether it integrates on top of zoom or something.

@heytherebuddy actually has a pretty good gif screen demo on this page: https://getspeckled.com/beta. If you scroll down a bit - it's just a gif that shows the product in action. These are great for showing off functionality. It might trigger a huge "aha" moment for you to be able to show live reactions over a video call, instantly, as soon as someone comes onto the page!

          1. 2

Thanks for the additional feedback - I spoke with my partner this morning and we're going to rework the landing page thanks to all your feedback. I've got a lot of gifs to make!

        2. 1

Hi Matt, I found your idea very interesting and definitely will try to use it at work - I share your pain about bad meeting and love that your product gives an opportunity to more quiet people in having bigger impact during meetings.

However, I agree with Christian - it took me some time to actually understand what the whole thing is about. I ended up creating and joining a meeting. That gave me a lot better understanding of what product actually is.

I think a better example should be used on the landing page, either a gif or even a short video-demo.

    2. 2

      Thanks!

Whoa, Jumpon is really awesome. Love the live reactions to video calls. And the jellyfish! :D I'm definitely going to keep this in mind. We do mostly one-on-ones in our team, and when we get together our team of 3 it's mostly utilitarian. Could definitely see my partner liking this for their org's 20+ person meetings, but they are a highly regulated organization so might be tough for them to adopt a new tool. Happy to ask though if it's of interest.

      1. 2

"Happy to ask though if it's of interest." - absolutely - please do. ANY USE at this point is amazing - it's getting tough to maintain enthusiasm!

Obviously we think our product is great - and it really helps our meetings - but we're struggling to get people to even give it a shot!

Thanks for checking it out - I really appreciate it

    3. 2

      Right - Shoutworks feedback.

So I'm not the target market for this, given I literally have never used Alexa, so take what I say with a pinch of salt....

1)I'd love to see an example video of your product in action - show me how you turned my WP content into something useful - help me visualise the potential. There's so much text I'd rather watch 60 seconds and get my aha moment in there.

      1. You have try me now for free - great - but when I hit this button I landed on your pricing page - mentally I wasn't prepared for that - maybe the text should refer to a free trial rather than "try it now for free" - but it was jarring (I actually didn't even see the "Start your 30 day free trial today!" content - I initially thought you'd just not implemented the free bit yet.)

      2. It took me two clicks to get back to home - I feel like the leftmost nav option should take me home rather than to the secondary page ("Why Shoutworks?") - I realise you can just nav through the logo - but that's not what I did...

      1. 1

Really really great feedback, thank you. I've actually just put the video up on Youtube yesterday, so I'll throw it in now.
        2. This is awesome insight - I have a hunch you're absolutely right. Not a great look to say "free free free" then "...just kidding".
        Thanks a ton for this!

  36. 2

I will definitely take a look at Shoutworks as I have previously used Voiceflow to play around with Alexa skills in the past.

My product is currently https://cloudsprt.com/ but am in the process of rebranding to https://AmityBusiness.Solutions

Our main goal is to get the first paying customers as I currently have some trialling the helpdesk and fixing a few bugs (or missing key features) to try and get them to convert 🤞

    1. 2

Awesome, thanks! Would love to hear what you think.

Just looked at your site, a bit of my reactions:

      1. Your top-section of the landing page is selling the benefits of a helpdesk in general, not why your specific product is the best helpdesk. I want to see a compelling reason upfront of why this product is better than the other helpdesk solutions out there.
      2. I might try reframing things so that instead of referring to features, the content refers to what that feature helps me accomplish.
      1. 2

Thanks for your feedback and I have tried to incorporate this into a new landing page.

  37. 1

Wow love the energy everybody! Let's keep it going!

Update, my intermediate goal has made a surprise shift to: Get upvotes on Product Hunt!

Shoutworks on Product Hunt >>> https://www.producthunt.com/posts/shoutworks
Be kind, throw us an upvote!

Here I was, meticulously planning our PH launch, when WHAMO Shoutworks was hunted. The best part is... I had no idea until about 12 hours later when I finally checked Twitter lol :P

  38. 1

Hey, it is a nice initiative. I will check out other products mentioned here as well.

    1. My Product is Designtack - Create social media content in bulk.
    2. My main priority is to validate the idea. I have the landing page ready and I am getting users onboard who will be given beta access soon.
    1. 2

Really great idea. I would love to just automate the whole process, in a way that seems authentic & not bot-like. The question for me is can it be done :) Definitely looking forward to trying, just signed up!

      1. 1

Amazing! Glad to have you onboard.

  39. 1

    Great Post @Christpetron!

    1. I provide content marketing services to brands and small businesses
    2. My main goal right now is to build a personal brand and get prospects into our marketing funnel. I offer free content marketing consultation to do that!
    1. 1

Nice! Selling services is a great way to make a living, but can definitely be tough at times. That sounds great - how are you getting people to sign up for the consultation?

      1. 2

Yes, indeed. There are times when you have to customize your strategy to suit specific business needs and objectives. But that's one of our USPs. We are following a boutique approach with our agency. For getting people to sign up for the consultation, we are setting up different channels, majorly social media and search.

Love this. Beautiful site, and really good idea for a product - love it.

I think the main thing missing from your site at the moment is a sense of exactly how much money I personally could lose if my privacy policy is wrong. Maybe give a specific example of an unwitting founder who screwed up the privacy policy and has gotten sued or something. And how Privacysanta (love the name btw!) makes absolutely sure that you get it right - maybe have some quotes from lawyers saying how great Privacysanta is?

Actually your strategy sounds like a really good one! Like "hey, I made you a privacy policy" - that would definitely catch my attention. As long as it is super clear what the benefit is of going with you. Because I know that the alternative for most people is to just find a free template online and change the names. So you have to make a really good case - $2 per month isn't a lot, but why is it worth it?

Can't help but think that with your awesome design and idea, word-of-mouth and influencers could be a good channel. I can also see investors being into something like this. Could pitch it as a time-saver for their startups.

Also, have you thought about just charging a one-time fee?

Delayed response! But... 1) was super easy to get started - awesome! 2) the character limit thing, I guess I wanted to write a wall of text haha. Maybe could do something similar to what Mailchimp does when you write a subject line that's too long? (Shows you red and says "the highest-performing subject lines are 5 words long" or something)
