Hosting privacy friendly web analytics yourself is cheaper than you think.

Offen is designed to be fair and lightweight in all aspects. It is the right choice if you want to easily find out how your website is used while respecting the privacy of your users.

The following non-exhaustive list contains hosting providers that we have tested ourselves. We are not affiliated with any of them, do not earn money if you install Offen there. If you happen to know other good choices, please let us know.

Here are some options available in June 2020 for hosting Offen on a budget.

AWS

  • USD 3.90 per month (plus USD 5.00 if you need a database) or maybe even free for 12 months if you just signed up
  • Offen needs to be installed manually from the command line

Heroku

  • Free if you can live with servers falling asleep and can provide your own SSL certificate. The free setup can only serve a single domain.
  • USD 7.00 per month if you need proper performance and managed SSL
  • You can deploy Offen from within your browser using our Heroku preset.

DigitalOcean

  • USD 5.00 per month (plus another USD 5.00 if you need a dedicated database)
  • Requires command line interaction in any case
  • Setup can be done using our DigitalOcen prebuilt image.

Linode

  • USD 5.00 per month (plus another USD 5.00 if you need a dedicated database)
  • Offen needs to be installed manually from the command line
