It'll be interesting to see how Discord adapts to communities outside of gaming. I'm a gamer and I know first-hand how distinctly quirky this community can be.
The Discord founders knew that as well, and capitalized on it. Selling status is a proven model for gaming (Fortnite, League of Legends, Rocket League etc..), but I haven't seen this model outside.
