Hi all -
I've been wanting to create a blog post that compiles qualitative data and quantitative stats/graphs to make the content more interesting and unique (similar to this article: https://databox.com/keyword-tracking-tools).
The problem is: I'm not sure where to start with data collection!
I'll definitely need a Google Form/survey, but as of now, I don't know where/how to distribute it to get enough responses.
Please let me know if you have any tips/tricks regarding this task! Thanks!
There are a bunch of sub-reddits on SEO (/r/SEO, /r/BigSEO). Also, hundreds of Facebook Groups (just type SEO into Facebook search, filter by groups, and see those with 10k+ members).
You don't need a survey tool IMO. These are communities. Just ask: What's your favorite SEO tool, for example. and see the responses. You can create a poll inside the Facebook post itself (also there are some hacks on Reddit to create a poll, see this post.)
Hope this helped!
Definitely, that makes a lot of sense! I appreciate the Reddit poll post –– will probably use it in my research. Thanks a bunch!
Jumping in here to say that in addition to sub-reddits and community forums (Facebook groups), you could also try sharing it in Slack groups.
Depending on what type of data you're looking to gather, you can also ask your customers to participate as well (if you have an existing customer base). Or even send out an email with a link to your survey to your prospects list. :)
I would go to a community related to the topic and ask nicely (probably ask the mods first).
I've filled many forms for people that were doing research on Reddit for example.
Thanks, this is super helpful! Would you mind sharing which subreddits you've filled out forms from?
Sorry, I don't remember exactly...
Last one was a survey about the perception of citizens on the COVID response by governments but I don't even remember if it was in the sub of the country where I reside, or one of the COVID related subs.
