How do you end your support emails?

The main thing I learned about emails was that they had to start with a salutation and end with some kind of remark like "Best regards...". This was over 10 years ago and now it just feels weird. It still feels like the formal business thing to do but there's got to be a better way.

A lot of my users that email me for support just get straight to the point, no salutation, no ending, just the problem. I feel if I reply in the same manner it comes off too casual but if I do what I know then it comes off too formal.

How do you handle b2b/support emails?

    I always say:

    With thanks,
    Jay

Folks writing in are customers, and you're the business - you shouldn't aim to match style. Even for the most brief, casual, or informal support requests, I've always replied with something like

Hope that helps! Let me know if you need anything else,

Our support email is a general catch-all address. When I respond it is typically like this:
    ------
Hi (person) my name is Joe.

(Provide solution or ask clarifying question)

    Happy to help,
    Joe

Email providers provide a "signature feature"(gmail provides it) that you can use. There you can enter some closing signature like "Thank you, Kyle", "With regards, Kyle" or others.

It adds the signature automatically in every email so saves a lot of typing time.

Another solution can be using "Canned response" where you can save the Salutation as a template with a closing signature.

This def. make your reply looks very professional.

    hi @ktruong008,
As long as the customer gets a solution in a timely and polite manner, i think they would be okay with details like that. I would error towards formal than informal though, but thats just me.

If you get a lot of support emails, would you mind chatting about it over email ? I'm validating and idea i have, searchegg.io, and would really appreciate your input.

    regardless,

It's refreshing to see other endings, they feel a lot more natural. How do y'all feel about including last names or signatures?
