To all the folks that building scarpers and any thing that needs proxy's , how do you select good and reliable proxy providers to work with that support API?

For RegiRank, I've tested a lot of proxy providers until I found the right one, with a balance between price and what I get and for now it's enough for what I need. So I think testing multiple providers until you find what you need would be the best option. If you do generate a lot of traffic, I would stay away from providers that have a cost per GB of traffic as the costs could be very high.

Thanks for your answer i see your products do use proxies.
But what happens when the provider is offline? do you have fall back plan?
Also, can you share where did you get the recommendation on your current supplier?
is there any Reddit group or any community like this for to ask about proxies?

Found them by Google search and by reading reviews about them(again search the provider name), then check if they have a money back policy, for me even 24h is more than enough to test them.

Currently I have 2 services that use proxies, for the first, it isn't very important to have 100% uptime for the proxies, even a few hours of downtime isn't that bad and I didn't had any problems of downtime in almost 2 years of using them.

For the second, the clients sometimes are more demanding so I'm actually using multiple providers, just a few days ago one stopped working for a part of the process so I've just replace it with another provider that is better but I have to pay per GB, but the good thing is that it's just a part and I generate only around 100 MB of traffic per day which is pretty cheap.
