How do you manage customer data import issues?

Hi!

As importing customer data into our products may be a quite tricky process (encoding and format issues, duplicates...), I was wondering how you handle that.

Do you let your customers handling these tricky points themselves ?
Do you help them during the onboarding phase ?
Do you have some tools to handle that ?

@remy40 I am working on a new product idea which targets exactly this. I am currently collecting feedback from people facing this problem to help me understand better the needs around this.

It would be really helpful if you could share your main points around the topic and what you would like to see from such a solution.

I have not tried them myself, but Flatfile.io seems to target this problem statement.

As far as the obligatory personal plug goes, I have made a simple OSS React widget that does CSV upload + parse + field assignments (but nothing fancy like de-dupe): https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-csv-importer. Not quite no-code, but maybe low-code.

      Nice widget! :-)

Yes, I read some pages about flatfile.io and it's a really nice tool, but maybe a little bit expensive for small/medium bootstrapped businesses which onboard only some customers per month.
