How do you remain focused?

I'm a solo-founder and have launched my MVP and am attempting to find customers and beta users.

Although I have a checklist of things I know I need to do, I also keep reading articles and books for new ideas and find myself being distracted from my initial agenda as I think of new things that are suddenly more pressing. Even after I tick something off my checklist, I then read something telling me that I need to do something new or different. It feels like I'm running in circles trying to improve or add something to what I've already done.

So I'm just wondering: how do you keep yourself focused when there is so much information out there that suggests new things to do to help you achieve your goal?

haha, I wish that was actually a cure! though it is certainly my go to drink to distress

I have the same issue as there's just so many different marketing and growth tactics that I hear/read about it's difficult to keep the blinders on and trust the process.

One method I started a couple weeks ago is waking up at 4am - probably way overkill but there are many things I'd rather be doing at 4am than going through my checklists - and this is precisely what keeps me focused to power through it...!

If I have time later in the day I still explore various methods, tricks and hacks - write down the most interesting ones I would want to try on a post-it and file it at the bottom of the stack (post-its idea from @levelsio :)

The post-it stack is growing... Might look at it on the weekend to see if there's real value to implementing anything from the notes - & till then it's checklists at 4am :D

That's a good idea. So you basically have a checklist that you must do, and then another of things you might try out later. I might need to start doing that instead of going off on new tangents every time I read some interesting article

Yes pretty much it's a two checklist approach with a rule to not review the 2nd one on a daily basis. The 4am is just self-discipline (read: self-torture) to ensure compliance :)

Focus is one of these ideas that everyone thinks is something else. You decide what focus is. You decide what is important. The whole point of being an entrepreneur is to ignore all the bullshit around you and go real hard for what you have to do because you would not be able to breathe otherwise. We can train that together if you are up for that. <3

It definitely takes personal training to even learn what is and isn't important to focus on, especially as a first-time entrepreneur. But your message is certainly something to embrace! I would be interested to train together, my email is [email protected] if you would be happy to connect!
