How I accidently went from naval project management to digital product management

Some things just happen in life and you can't do anything about them. I studied naval engineering with a focus on project management. Last year, I started in a small company specialised in yacht interiors as a project manager. Apart from project management, I also helped build the team and the company.

When I was working there for a few months, they asked me if I was interested to manage on of their side projects as well. This side project was OneGlimpse, a desktop app for sharing files that was in an early stage of development and was not being managed at all.

I cleaned up the mess, sorted out the requirements and made sure our developer was working on the right things at the time. Just project management like always.

However, now that we've launched the beta, I've been more and more involved in managing the product than the project itself. I'm in charge of marketing, communication, documentation, everything. This is no project management anymore, at least not when you look at it as an engineer.

So, my question is, what does product management mean for you?
