💪 How I bootstrapped ConveyThis from $0-250k to ARR. AMA.

Hey everyone!

This is a follow up from my last AMA, company has grown over 50% since my last AMA: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/my-website-translation-service-just-hit-14k-mrr-196fc7ba00.

I’m Alex Buran and I’ve been an entrepreneur for longer than I can remember. I like to build stuff, mostly companies, and try to tell a story that goes beyond what the company does to how it’s changing markets. Really like to talk about all things SaaS, specifically growth strategy.

What am I working on?

A language translation tool for websites called ConveyThis helping bootstrapped entrepreneurs expand their websites into multiple languages and grab more market share globally.
Our purpose is to help entrepreneurs succeed. Our mission is to build the world’s most accurate machine translation solution. Our vision is to make website localization process uber easy with trust, transparency, innovation, efficiency, simplicity, and ease of use.

ConveyThis.com today is currently...
• $252,000 in ARR
• Growing 10% MoM,
• 50+ website connectors: WordPress, Shopify, Wix, etc.
• 100,000,000+ translated words
• 350,000,000+ combined page views
• 50,000 registered users

Before ConveyThis, I bootstrapped another language translation startup: Translation Services USA which still operates independently as a language translation agency and is headquartered in New York.

Hoping to help fellow bootstrappers with any questions about building and scaling SaaS startups on a budget... marketing, sales, branding, positioning, pricing, hiring, etc throw it at me!

I'll either have a good answer or a mistake I've made for you to avoid. :)

    Great work Alex!

My question is in relation to marketing. What tips would you give to a novice marketer and which channels have worked the best for Conveythis?

I've been so focused on building new features into my social scheduling platform (https://pallyy.com incase you're interested) that I put marketing off, for too long probably. I'm trying to get more active and improve my skills so any advice you have would be great!

    Cheers!

I had a quick glance at your website. What's unique about your product compared to other SSPs?

      1. 1

We're targeted more towards social media agencies, with feedback & client approval features that help the whole process of managing clients.

Our UI is extremely easy to use, and not clunky at all compared to some others.

Our pricing is also unique in that for a agency it's one of, or if not the most affordable platform.

    2. 1

I have a full time developer who is solely focuses on product improvement.
So, we ended up with a great product. Seriously. We almost have no support tickets because nothing breaks. However, marking is a tough cookie.
I think posting on this forum milestones like this gives us a bit of exposure among Saas entrepreneurs and opens doors to podcast interviews and publications.

        Thanks for the tips Alex!

Did you build this completely solo? 50+ integrations? Wow

    1. 1

I wish I could do it completely solo))
No, we have a small team of really good developers and we've built these connectors slowly over the time.
