How I designed my landing page and blog

Here is video preview of the website

###Tech Stack

  • React.js with Next.js framework
  • TailwindCSS
  • Contentful CMS
  • Vercel for hosting
  • Firebase auth and database
  • MongoDB(Will be using it next update)

###Design thought process

"Everybody can build an online home where they host their best ideas." David Perell. This is going to be my little home on the internet. So I treated my design approach like that.

Then there is a question with super easy and no wrong answers, however whatever you choose, it shapes your experience. Just one question and you get the treasure key. And it gives you 4 rewards.
(The variety of rewards is WIP and will always change with time)

I'm presenting "weekly newsletter" as a reward. Commonly it is most advised that make it super simple and easy for people to sign up. But I am making it a bit harder, however, it is not really hard, just the illusions of efforts.

People don't value things which come to them easily.
However making things too hard will also make most people away. Hence it is not really hard but provides just illusion of efforts.

Each blog preview is card right now. This is loosely based on a design from the apple app store. I'm planning to display more information on the card itself so you will have a much better idea on what you are going to get.

Yes, it's far from complete and not really great enough. But it's important to ship as quick as possible. Not falling for perfection syndrome again or else I still wouldn't have launched the website.

Next big update:

Fixing animation bugs
Updating rewards
Updating future page
Launching the first micro-game
Making first micro-game

Brownie points for guessing what it is really about.
