Hi all,
Awesome community, and first time posting here. So, YC has pretty solid framework for assessing idea's potential: https://youtu.be/DOtCl5PU8F0.
I love forums, like this one, that allow to get in detailed feedback of a particular ideas. But as a technical founder, and data geek, I'm missing the opportunity to get a brid's eye view that a standarized form would throw. This includes valuable data, as market size, trends, competition & pricing.
I'm thnking of building an app based on YC's framwork, however, my main concern, is how long would founders spend filling out the form. The video is about 20 minutes, and the form could be digested in three separate paths: a five minute one, a 10 minute and a longer one. In order to focus my initial efforts I would like to ask you, what would be the ideal time for you to fill a form in a new forum?
Thanks, y'all.
Best.
A good product gives you a gradual sense of progress, it's not about the total time it's about the experience.
There are lean startup board services
There javelin
There are products for investment decks
All dealing with the same area/niche and all a time investment
Thanks for your insight @hatkyinc, I think I have the way to provide the most amount of value, in the least amount of time. Could you please share, some links to the resources you mentioned ?
I'm interested, specially on those that you consider provide a gradual sense of progress.
So there is the technical side like what UX tells you about progress bars, breadcrumbs, index... But then I think the 2nd side is a psychological side of how you build up the progress with the questions for example, so the lean stuff clearly shows how one question connects to the next mentally, both visually and by logical constructs, let's say problem->solution->UVP is pretty clear and progressive on the lean board... Letting people jump around is also useful IMHO. Also for products profile completion https://uxdesign.cc/designing-to-drive-behaviors-f09b62e5162c
Ah, and btw, I manage to cut the on-boarding to 2 minutes. That will be a good start :D
Thanks @hatkyinc, you just helped validate my idea. While I'm sure this products are great, they are nowhere close to what I'm hoping to build.
In my plan, the product would share more with Crunchbase that this kind of solutions. You may call it, data-driven approach.
More quantifaible, more scientific, less artistic. Thanks again!
Ops I confused posts ^^ bulk answering fail
It's funny 60% is the same
