How Randall Made $30,000 on Her First Self-Published Book

  1. 3

In 2019, I had a few hundred Twitter followers. In 2020, I reached 30,000 Twitter followers in just a few months.

Has she written anywhere about this part? That seems like the key step. I bought Daniel Vassallo's course too, but didn't find anything like this kind of result.

I included some of my biggest tweets and links to my free guides that I created. I think the key for me was discovering what was valuable to other people.

I'll also be doing an entire Gumroad workshop on building an audience shortly! If you subscribe to http://gumroad.com/gumroad, you'll be the first to find out.

That was quick, thanks and sure thing. Is it really gumroad.com/gumroad? It would be amazing if they hadn't reserved that URL!

Yep! I'm hosting a few exciting events and the email announcements will go out there.

Wow! Okay. Signed up and hope to add thousands of followers a month, too!

Hey... I subscribed a few months ago and looked for but never found the workshop. Do you have a direct link?

This is a great post by @randallkanna with lots of useful tips on building an audience and things to think about when launching a book.

What a wealth of information, thanks for sharing this @randallkanna! One point that really stood out to me is where you mentioned that you gave away copies for free for those who were unemployed - love the empathy and understanding here and hearing how it actually led to your biggest supporters.

Also really agree with the power of a friend's word-of-mouth recommendation versus an "influencer". It's what we're trying to leverage for travel :).

@randallkanna I am one of your newer twitter followers, came across you a couple weeks ago. Thanks for writing such a detailed post. I especially appreciate that you showed not only what worked, but also what didn't work with your sales pages. Look foward to seeing what you are putting out with Gumroad.

Thank you! I’m really excited for the gumroad news! We’ll announce next week. And best of all, everything will be free!
