How to guide users through setup to realize value?

Hey y'all,

I am currently building out a tool (https://rangerdemo.com) to help sales teams create excellent, shareable product demos. What I am finding is that, in order to solve this problem, there is a fairly significant setup cost. That is, getting up and running will require some effort on the user's part before realizing the value. For Ranger, it's setting up connections to applications and registering API endpoints. I have built a basic onboarding flow to get started but I am concerned that I would need to guide each new user through the full process.

Has anyone faced a similar dilemma with their product and how do you help guide users over that hump?

Hey have you considered using an onboarding tool for this? Didn't that solve your issue? I think checklists are a great way to do this with goal based onbaording.
