How to Launch When The App Store Rejects You

  1. 1

That is the slack app approval response. You can still distribute it, but it can't be found in the apps directory. I was going through this recently, I know it is distributable without approval.

If you want to be in their directory you have to follow their rules. They say very clearly in their reasoning that it is because of DMing everyone in a channel. The fact that they explain the issue in such clear terms means you know what the issue is and what you have to fix to continue the approval process. This is actually much clearer feedback than some other gatekeepers cough cough (google) cough cough.

The ball is in your court; now you decide what to do. You have three choices:

    1. make requested changes to continue approval process
    2. distribute without listing in apps directory
    3. start your next project

The fact that you've built an app around something that is explicitly not allowed means you have to dig into what exactly do you want to accomplish by that behavior. Is there some other way to achieve the same end goal that is legal in the slack world.

You can't republish the app by fixing issues in appstore?

      Nope - they won't let me :/
