How-To: Run Facebook Ads as an Indie Hacker

I'm going to share how you can improve your FB Ad performance in 10 min.

You must discover which combo of creatives and targeting yields lowest CPA. After reading this, you'll know how to do this using Excel.

Unfortunately... many don't take the time to understand optimizing campaigns.

Some people hate using Excel. Why?

They hate looking at numbers.
They don't know how to export the data.
Organizing the data seems impossible.
Don't worry!

I'm going to show you how you can analyze your FB ads in 10 min or less.

Here's how, step by step:

Step 1: Open FB Ads Manager
Create a report.
Click Reports, click Create Custom Report, and change Date Range to Max. Choose your columns.
Include names, spend, CPA, and Conv. Value.
Save your report and export.

Step 2: Organize Data in Excel
Don't feel overwhelmed by the numbers. This is fun!
CMD+A and Insert Pivot Table.
Right-click Campaign Name and Collapse Entire Field.
Right-click on the first cell under Amount Spent and sort Largest to Smallest.

Step 3: Colors!
Last step!
Select all rows under CPA and add Conditional Formatting.
See which campaigns are performing over/under your CPA goals.
Expand your highest spending campaign to find which ad sets are winners. Pause the ones losing money!
