Hows My Demo? Feedback before our First 2K Email Campaign!

Welcome!

Looking for Demo feedback!

Stor.Guru is a personal home inventory system that uses unique QR code labels to track your things. We have recently designed a Demo to help newcomers find the "Aha Moment" faster and begin to get ideas on how they would want to use the app.

Demo Mode App - https://stor.guru/#!page=demo_mode

Demo Mode Sheet PDF - https://stor.guru/static/img/starter-pack/demo_mode_sheet.pdf

We have also created a Demo Mode Sheet that has the hierarchy of the items in the demo along with their QR codes. This sheet will also be inserted into our packs of labels that we distribute.

Next week we will be kicking off our first 2K Email Campaign ( first of five ) and we are looking for feedback and last minute suggestions from the community!

Do you think this demo will entice users to sign up? Is the PDF provided a good aid when trying to understand the product? Has the "Aha Moment" happened to you?

Please Comment!

Many Thanks

Looks like you've put a lot of work in.

However, It doesn't look very inviting or professional. If design isn't a strong suite you use a premium theme or pay a designer.

Also, the loading of the demo was slow and kept jumping around on mobile

Hey, I appreciate the honest feedback, I really do.

I do not have a the best eye for design, what you see is 100% original. As we gain traction in the market, I agree with you that, one of our priorities needs to be to be the "look and feel" to attract more users. I will say that it has come a long ways from what it was, once being called a jumble of fruit salad, and my skills have improved along the way.

What part looks the worst to you? Or is there anything right now I could do to make it more inviting??

I am worried about your experience with the demo. About how long would you say that it took to load for you? About 2 Seconds or longer than that?

Your point about jumping around is a good one. I think I just get so used to working with things that I overlook how much it is actually doing. Some of the jumpiness is due to taking you to the login page and then directly logging you in as the demo user. Another reason is that the data is syncing and loading in. I will work on improving this.

Overall, do you think it will get users?

      Thanks again!

Sorry to jump in on this thread but I have to agree. The design is really not good. Sorry :( I mean it is a constructive way. And it's a bit slow to load.

I think you should get help from a UI designer or use a template. That would immediately make things better.

Hey thanks again for the responses. Yeah design help is needed.

I am worried about when you say it is slow? Are you going specifically to the Demo page or to the main page? I wanna kinda figure out where you are seeing the slow down. You are talking about the initial load correct, not navigating to other pages?

          1. 1

It's just generally slow to load

Okay thanks, are you outside the use, the servers we are hosting with are in New York USA. Also, as a disclamer, the app is a SPA which means that the initial load will be a little bit slower because it is downloading and caching the whole application. Once the app is cached the it should feel pretty snappy since all data is on the local device.

So why would someone need this?

      Hey thanks for the response!

I take it you mean, why someone would need Stor.Guru. Not someone would they need a Demo of Stor.Guru, correct?

So our target market, for the moment, is people who own storage units. In the US, it has become close to a $40B industry with about 10% of all US households renting one ( see (U.S. Self-Storage Industry Statistics - Sparefoot 2020)[https://www.sparefoot.com/self-storage/news/1432-self-storage-industry-statistics/]. Our email list consists of people who rent or have previously rented a storage unit.

Stor.Guru is useful to this demographic because it saves storage unit renters trips out to the storage unit when they forget what they put there. It saves the effort of remembering where things are when you have not used them in a long time, and it combines the organizational efforts of users on the same account.

This is just one of the target markets we decide to try, again this is our first marketing campaign we are starting and plan to carry out four more with storage unit renters.

Hey, thanks for the explanation. Personally, I would not release this to the world yet as the design needs some serious attention. However, if it's not going to cost you much to run the campaign, it might be worth giving it a shot. Maybe you need some direct feedback from people?

Thanks for the follow up! Point taken about the design. It has come a long way. I feel like I am grappling with seeing it progress over time, knowing that it could get there at some point, and trying to find outside design help. Which I would love to do, definitely not opposed to it. I think it is more of a question on where is developer time and money are spent.

If you could also take a look at our Professional Organizer Directory I would appreciate it.

          https://stor.guru/organizer_directory

To be honest I like the design of this part of the site way more than the internal app.

I think you hit the nail on the head. We are at the point where we need a ton of feedback from anyone and everyone, I would love to improve on this.

If you could fix one thing right now do you know what it would be? Like the look of the buttons or the layout or something else? What nags out the most about it?

          Thanks again,
          -Dylan
