My email list for songbox is in the thousands. Many of them fall into the category of “signed up ages ago, now no longer interested but haven’t unsubscribed”.
A smaller subset are engaged but includes “free” people.
A smaller subset again are paying customers and are thus pretty highly engaged.
What I did today though was send an email to just those paying customers and said something along the lines of:
“One of the core values of songbox is “speak to the people who use the product as much as you can” however I’m getting wary of emailing you guys too much. Last thing I want to be is a nuisance.
So I am creating a steering group for songbox. If you want to see new designs first (and feedback on them), if you want to help shape new features and generally steer the songbox experience, then just reply to this email.”
I said more than that but so far I’ve had about 25 people enthusiastically reply and want to be in the steering group.
I now have a group of super engaged, paying customers who are ready and willing to give feedback, test new features and generally engage with me about the product.
I’m going to set up a group on signal for these people too.
