"I have a product, but how do I grow?"

Recently, I have received this question from a lot of startups, entrepreneurs and indie hackers when they took me up on my offer to advice them on digital Marketing, growth and scaling up.

Below is a high level framework that I get all of them to think through:

  • What pain point is your product/service solving?
  • what value is it providing?
  • who is it providing the value to (customer traits)?
  • will they care about this value?
  • will they be fine if they don’t have this value?
  • will they pay for this value?
  • is this value better than current alternatives?

The questions above will give you an idea of the competitive advantage, the likelihood of product acceptance and the kind of messaging and content you should prepare.

Once this is done, the next step is to understand how to find these customers and where to find them.

This is where I ask them to have some hard numbers on how many are they looking to sign up to their product/service and how quick.

Once these two steps are completed, the fun part of building out a growth plan that is built on a strong foundation, starts!

This community has opened my eyes to a lot of great ideas/projects that everyone is working on. It’s been inspiring to say the least. Good luck to all. I am happy to help in your journey!
