I have an app idea, will people like it?

I've been designing and looking into a little finance app for a while. It's got none of those fancy expense or portfolio tracking but it does a few features that I haven't been able to find in an app and have had to make an excel document around.

It includes a net worth calculator so you can see how your net worth is split up among your assets along with potential % annual returns.

It also has a feed for ways to make money. This will have things such as referral links for investing platforms, Matched betting and other tested and verified methods of making quick or long-term passive income.

It will also have a compound interest calculator.

And lastly, a passive income tracker, so you can enter in all streams of passive income and the app, will give you a breakdown annually, monthly, daily and hourly.

Personally, this would be something I would use and I'm hoping others would as well.

Please let me know how I can get a rough idea of how many people might download and use the app?

and what other features you think would be good to include?

Would you download it?

Hi! I think you should read the book "The Mom Test", it will help you to figure out if your idea is a good one or not by talking to actual potential users.

    Hey!

First of all it looks nice and I believe it is useful for you.

Regarding your question will people like it, I think that you should market the app's features that you couldn't find in competing apps, so they will help you be unique in your market, and that will determine whether people like your app or not.

Regarding to how many people are there that need the functionality you need and couldn't find, that I can't tell you because I haven't researched this market. You should.

    Good luck!

Hi Benjamin. Is this strictly a net worth tracker and there's no connections to any of your bank / financial accounts? As in, you will have to enter the data yourself?

As you have discovered, Excel/Spreadsheet is probably the main alternative here. I myself uses Notion.so (is has tables like a spreadsheet) to do this.

Since data entry is something that has to be done anyway (on your app or a spreadsheet), maybe your unique proposition is around all the visualisation, reporting or forecast features?
