My no-code channel hit 200 Youtube subscribers today!
Here's the channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/MakeSomethingwithRomy
I know it's a small number, but for someone who had never recorded ANY video before or talked in front of a camera it feels like a win :)
Also I've not spent any money on equipment apart from a $40 ring light which I got two weeks ago. I record with my regular headphones and phone and use quicktime/imovie . You don't need any fancy equipment to start. I see all these expensive cameras, lights, audio and eventually someday I may upgrade my equipment but for now it gets the job done.
Also this community has been a huge support so thank you all as well.
Happy to share any learnings, feel free to ask me anything!
Congratulations Romy! (And it's not a small number, imagine lining 200 people on the street -- that's be a long line :)
That's true, didn't think of it like that! Thank you :)
I know how hard it is to pull this one off. Amazing you made it.
Thank you so much! Definitely felt like giving up a couple of times down the road.
Don't! You got this!
Woah, that's amazing! Congratulations! 🥳
Atto is so cool!
Thanks, Naya! Keep up the amazing work as well :)
Congrats!!
Thank you!
¡Congrats Romy!
As I've said from the begining, you have great content, it is just question of time :D
Thanks Alex for being so supportive right from the beginning!
Congrats Romy, keep it up!
Thank you!
Congrats! Planning to start my channel next month... and tips for new Youtubers?
I would say remember why you started it. Youtube isn't easy and there have been times I felt like giving up and so I would go back to why I wanted to do it in the first place which kept me going. Also like anything else in life, don't expect overnight results - I know people love the how I reached x, y, z in record time but most popular youtubers actually get to where they are in years, consistently showing up and improving.
I also wrote some tips here https://www.indiehackers.com/post/lessons-learned-from-hitting-100-youtube-subscribers-in-a-month-f1f42e1b83
I'm excited for your journey! Good luck with the channel!
I'm checking that out now! Thanks for the tips!
Congrats @romymisra! I literally set up my Youtube channel just minutes ago. Getting in front of a camera isn't my strength, but I'm going to give it a shot. Where did you find subscribers?
Hey Rick! For subscribers , find where your relevant audience hangs out and share your content with them. For me it was no-code communities - reddit, indiehackers and twitter. Also help people without expecting anything in return in your community - got this tip from @trulykp which really worked for me! Good luck with your channel!
:)
Nice! Congratulations! 💫
Thank you!
That's awesome!!! Keep it up!
Thank you!
Congrats, Romy 🎉
Thank you! Have to do a Dorik video too soon.
Congrats! Nice job 👍
Thank you!
It also depends what audience do you have. For students who watch memes it's a small number, but if it's indie hackers it might be a good start
Keep on working!
For sure. Really depends on the topic.
Yay Romy, that's great! Getting a YT channel off the ground is no easy feat - your first 100 subscribers are probably the most difficult to attain. Your message is clearly resonating with viewers so keep producing content! I had a watch and can definitely see the value. Well done 🙌
Thank you! Surprising my 100-200 was harder. A couple of videos I released resonated less with the audience it was slower for sure and made it tougher.
