I know nothing about SEO. Where should I start?

I've recently released foxyapps.co and I would like to start promoting it more on various channels.

I've been thinking about whether I should pay more attention to SEO. Does it matter at this early stage? What are some must-haves, if any, that you should implement as early as possible?

And what resources do you recommend that would give me the most relevant advice for my use case?

If you are learning SEO, the first hurdle you'll hit won't be needing more resources, it'll be that there's WAY too many out there.

Figuring out which are worth your time and what actually matters is crucial.

Here's a few resources that will help cut through the noise:

    Free Resources:

    Keyword Research Videos

    SaaS SEO Videos

    Link Building Videos

    General Content Marketing Videos

The SEO for the Rest of Us Podcast

    Paid Resources:

If you're in paying for education, our community and all the education inside of it will be perfect for ya or if you're more of a course person, this beginner SEO bundle will get you started on a path you can actually take action on. 😉

Wow, that's a great resource. Thanks!

The top SEO tools like SEMRush and Ahrefs have GREAT content around SEO for beginners (SEMRush Academy is free and I think it's pretty good: https://www.semrush.com/academy/courses).

It seems like you don't have much crawlable content on your site (copy that's not in images, optimized alt tags and titles for images you have, etc.) so I'd probably start there. Seems like there's a lot of content you could produce around these apps, design principles, etc. though! Like each thumbnail could have a few sentences below explaining why it's a great design or what the benefit is. Bottom line: I'd start creating content and then once you start doing that you could focus on optimizing.

      Thanks for the advice!
I've started reading Ahrefs Beginner's Guide and I'll definitely check out the SEMRush course as well.
I'm planning to create some content, but I was thinking more in terms of separate blog posts that would link to individual apps. Do you think it would be better to have more content directly on the homepage?
Also, since I don't have any traffic yet, I wanted to focus on promotion in various channels first and then on content creation. Do you think it would be better to do it the opposite way from the SEO perspective?

Your revenue model is purely affiliate at the time being? I'd beef up the individual app pages first and then focus on blog/SEO. The eventual goal is that blog will drive up domain authority so that your static "product" pages rank higher, but it's good to get those dialed in first. (Though I'm a little unclear on your positioning -- who is your target market? At first I thought it was designers looking for inspo but if it's affiliate are you targeting consumers?)

But for right now I agree with your current approach. Content is a long game and I only recommend investing in blogging after testing if the actual product, on page messaging, etc. are doing what you expect. Before that I think there are some clear ways to optimize what you already have and leverage other channels first.

Hope this helps! I also do hourly consulting in content strategy and positioning if you'd ever like to dive deeper.

I haven't fully decided on any monetization model yet.
          Great advice, thanks again!
