I launched a product in less than a week (idea to launch)

Story:

2 weeks ago, one of my colleagues left the company to pursue a Product Role at a startup. I wanted to buy a physical book that gives more insights and helps her in the new role but it's going to be a matter of privacy if I ask her where she lives. So, I bought an Amazon gift card, sent her the amazon product link, and asked her to buy herself, yeah not so clean job.

Last year, I wanted to send something nice for my reports but couldn't do it because I cannot ask their addresses. And few more situations like this seemed like a recurring problem.

1 week ago, I have seen someone post on this platform about this problem (sorry can't find the thread) and then did some digging around to see if this is the problem for anyone else and stumbled upon quora questions, amazon feature requests. Seemed like a pain point, So I thought to give it a try and challenged myself to launch this in less than a week without spending too much time. 1 week is not a huge investment considering we (me and my wife) have full-time jobs and a toddler to manage 👶🏼

I have passed the idea to my wife and she is instantly on board with me to quickly create an MVP. That's how Surprise Gift is born. I can go into details on what we used as a tech stack if you are interested.

Product

https://surprisegift.to it is easy to use form where you can let us know what product to send them and we will generate a unique link so that you can share it with the receiver or we will request if you provide their email id. Once we receive the shipping information, we will order the product and deliver it 🎁 .

    How large is the TAM?
    Who is your ICP?

Hey, @prateekrmathur, I am relatively new to these terms but I will try to answer as best as I can.
An ideal Customer is someone with an internet friend and looking to gift a physical product. For example Video gamers with gaming friends, a colleague that you work with within the office. It's mostly for protecting the privacy of the receiver.
      TAM: no idea.

Honestly, I am a senior engineer with no growth marketing skills and I believe this would be something that I can learn how to take the product into the market by applying stuff I learn from books.
Any suggestions or feedback is highly appreciated :)

        TAM - Total addressable market

I think this idea is valuable, but you really need to niche down to your ICP. It cannot be everyone at this stage and you should focus on 1 or maximum 2 buyer types initially. Once you have proven the business model with paying customers then it's easier to expand.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. Totally makes sense. I am going to define the ICP for one niche and then concentrate more on that area.

Okay, I recently wrote a post on how to define your ICP which you can find on my profile. I'm happy to help further.
