I need advice in regards to website development and design! #imclueless

Hi,

I am trying to get a website up and running quick. I have been using bubble and webflow but it is going to take a while.

If I buy an HTML Template, what else has to be done after purchase aside from customizing wording and things of that nature?

I am clueless as you can probably tell.

    Why not have both? :)

There's a ton of Bubble no-code templates out there, and you'll get the best of the host worlds - NOT starting from scratch (Template), and doing the design and logic of it all by yourself (Bubble).

Check us out at https://zeroqode.com/templates - and don't hesitate to reach out if you need any advice.

    Good luck 🙌

I have actually been considering this option! I love this template:

      https://zeroqode.com/template/recruitmently---full-recruitment-template-1562603603305x637807481728624800

I have been contemplating for weeks on this one template but have a few questions about it.

      1. Can I add a integrations to it? I want to make a “freemium” membership site and also add a forum and blog page.

      2. Am I able to customize it? So give different colors?

      3. I want the paid members do be verified so they will have a profile picture and somehow integrate a verified member badge and other small profile features.

        Awesome :) to your questions:

        1. Yes, you can add all the integrations you want either via plugins or via direct (no-code) REST API integration (there's a connector tool for that)
        2. ABSOLUTELY - that's the whole point of having a no-code template - you can change all you want, without code
        3. Easy-peasy, with a little training on Bubble

Also I would like to make the business free plan to where they can post jobs but the dashboard and messaging to only be available to paid business members eventually.

Sure! That'll require a bit of learning how to build on Bubble, but we got you covered here too :)

We have a ton of Bubble courses (paid&free) on our educational platform - https://lab.zeroqode.com

But even before that - there's a TON of free Bubble learning resources within Bubble itself and on youtube.

As well as a multitude of great paid ones (Bubble itself is even hosting paid bootcamps now).

Check it out, and hit us up on Twitter (@vladvlarin) or our website https://zeroqode.com if you'll have any questions.

          Good luck 🙏

I’ll go purchase the template now since I have a better understanding. Thank you for your willingness to help!

Hello, what about https://carrd.co/? It can be enough for simple websites.

Regarding Wordpress (as it was mentioned), I have a great experience with Divi – https://www.elegantthemes.com/ It's not a traditional theme, more a no-code framework on top of Wordpress. Yesterday I've built another site of mine – https://automate.land.

Feel free to ask, if you need ;).

    Hey,

Can you share a few more details about the kind of site you're trying to make?

Bubble and webflow are great tools but, for some sites, could be more complex than necessary.

Likewise, an HTML template can be a great option, but you might end up spending time learning how to customise it. You also can't use an HTML template with tools like Bubble, so you're looking at choosing between a website builder or doing it yourself.

To directly answer your question, if you choose an HTML template, you'll need to learn enough HTML to be able to customise this to your needs, and you'll also need to find somewhere to host it so that it is available to everyone, not just on your computer.

I'm sure if you can share a few more details about what you're trying to achieve, someone will be able to help you choose which way to go!

      Thank you for the feedback!

Absolutely, so it is essential going to be a job board / freelance platform similar to UpWork. I have found a template that fits my exact needs but I guess I am confused more towards how the backend goes when purchasing a template. Also I am looking for something that is easy to customize being that I do not have coding experience.

These are the ones I love:

      ••• https://themeforest.net/item/qonspt-isometric-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/24146067

      https://themeforest.net/item/workwise-the-freelancer-and-social-networking-html-template/21647879

These all work but the last one has more of the features I am looking for as far as freelance and job postings similar to dribble mixed with upwork/fiverr.

As @cinghaman says there's an important distinction between a wordpress template and an HTML template though there's some overlap. I won't try and explain that side of things any better than they did :)

If you decide to go for the bubble option, be sure to check out the how to build series they have and in particular, this one: https://bubble.io/blog/build-fiverr-clone-no-code/

It might not be exactly what you want, it sounds like it might be close, and I'm sure their support will help you a little.

        Whatever you choose, good luck!

Thank you so much for your advice. I will definitely look into this!

Hi Lauren, I am a WordPress developer and for a job board, you definitely will need a backend system like WordPress so an HTML template won't really work for you as it would require a lot of work to convert that to a working upwork type site.

For a WordPress based theme from Themeforest, you will need a decent understanding of how a WordPress works and if you want to have some modification done either you will need to hire a WordPress developer or try to learn it yourself it is much more then just a simple Html.

Most of these WordPress themes off ThemeForest have demos to show you how the backend looks like if you are not familiar with WordPress

For a job board I would recommend checking out jobify theme (on ThemeForest) it is by developers Austondify they are experts in creating different types of directories/job boards and are good in support.

Feel free to reach out if you will have any further questions.

        Cheers
