I want to help teams communicate better. Drop some feedback on the landing page? [MVP live too!]

Hello everyone!

My name is Rushabh and I just put out a tool called MyCheckins.

The Story

I work in a small team.

Remote work has been amazing except for one little thing - we found ourselves spending a little more time in meetings than we liked. Over the last year, we did hear some people talk about similar problems.

So we decided to build a simple tool for teams to create check-in meetings - where you can add questions for your team to answer at a time of your choice.

This helped us automate a bunch of status updates and stand-up meetings. And we decided to put the tool out there after using it internally for two weeks!

The Page

Here is the link to our landing page: https://mycheckins.io

You can also access the MVP through it if you click on sign up.

Some points we need help with

We started working on this tool to solve a problem we had as a team. Obviously, user research was limited to some friends and internet strangers who expressed similar issues.

I'd love to learn a few things from you guys that can help us iterate upon the landing page and the product. Some questions:

  1. Does the landing page give you a decent idea about what the product is?
  2. If you work remotely, did you see any value in the tool? (Why/Why not?)
  3. Does the copy seem simple and genuine? Is the page easy to understand?
  4. What did you dislike about the landing page?

I'm also looking to conduct a handful of user interviews with people who might be interested in testing out the MVP.

If you found any value here, I'd love to get on a short call with you to talk about remote work, meetings and productivity. A call with you can really help us iterate faster and in the right direction.

You can find more details here and pick a time slot for a call: https://www.mycheckins.io/talk-to-us

That aside, thanks for reading so far. I hope you have a great day!

Hi Rushabh, Your Product idea is good. The website tells what problem you are solving.

On the practical side, you should analyze the advantages of a face to face meeting and try to incorporate similar features in the product.

I featured your product in my blog about Product Startups -

Good luck to you and your team.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, Venkat. I agree with what you said. Having features that give a face-to-face meeting feel (without the disadvantages) will be very important. Especially for new users who aren't used to async meetings.

This makes me think about the problem statement I started with. I feel like the problem is rather broad at the moment. I want to narrow down the problem statement first. What do founders and teams feel about how their communication right now? What are they missing out on? What would better communication look like to them? What's stopping them from getting there? What can a product do to help them in this journey?

To find the answers to these questions, I want to spend the next couple of weeks talking to founders and employees and hear what they feel about how their team communicates. Getting good at async communication is a combination of the right tool and the right team culture. This information will be crucial in helping me chart the roadmap ahead. The goal is to iterate and solve one (well-defined) problem exceptionally.

Also, thank you so much for the feature. I really appreciate it!

Hope you have a good day!

That's right Rushabh. Keep learning from founders/employees and also existing users. I am sure you will make the product a success. Please keep in touch.

Does the landing page give you a decent idea about what the product is?
    Yes
If you work remotely, did you see any value in the tool? (Why/Why not?)
Yes, to know what everyone is working on without having to go on Trello/Asana/Notion/Jira
Does the copy seem simple and genuine? Is the page easy to understand?
    Yeah it is
What did you dislike about the landing page?
I have no idea if this is a Slack bot, an email plugin, or something else (saas?)

      Thanks a lot!

The last point is really helpful. I guess it never hit me that I haven't communicated what platform the product actually is on. It's a SaaS product (independent platform).

I need to tweak the copy to make that obvious and easy to understand.

      Thanks again, I appreciate it!
