I want to help you, because helping you helps me!

For all of my professional career, I’ve worked with other people. At the beginning of this year, I finally committed to trying something that I’ve been thinking of for a long time - being a solo founder - having complete control over the process, and my future. But, I didn’t count on one thing.

I never really understood how much I enjoyed working with other people.

These last 6 months have been pretty lonely, and I’m positive that my productivity has been a fraction of what it should be. I did notice something in the process though.

When I had the opportunity to talk to a potential customer, a vendor, or talk with another founder, I’d feel a spike of productivity and pleasure, and I’d be able to move things along faster. The few times I’ve been able to do full-on peer programming have been fantastic.

With this understanding, I’d like to offer the community my time and experience in one(me)-to-one(you) or one(me)-to-many(you and your team) pairing, mentorship, help, advice, or just chat.

A bit about me, I guess… I’ve been a web developer since Netscape 0.92… I’ve been a founder, or on the founding team of a couple of startups. I’m a full-stack dev, node, javascript, react, socketio, aws, devops, database design, I’ve pretty much touched every aspect of web development at one time or another. Lately I’ve been spending a lot of time with Serverless and Next.js. I’ve done no-code work with airtable, bubble, adalo, integrations with zapier, twilio, integromat. I’ve done Stripe billing, subscriptions, connect marketplaces. Here's my resume: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FxNbKwFo5-GrS1pmvUjq7c5DcfMTbw6f/view?usp=sharing

I’m not quite sure how this will work - We can try to schedule things, or if you’re looking for something “now”, respond on this post, and I’ll get a notification, and we can figure something out.

Screen share on zoom, or VSCode live share, or whatever!

If you are not personally interested, please upvote this post so others can see it, and maybe I can help them!

Let’s move ahead together!

    Hi Edward,
Thanks for offering to help people. One question I have is regarding the automation software you've used... I'd like to learn more about automation. However, I'm not sure where to start - So what were your top 3 resources when it came to learning about automation e.g integromat, twilio and zapier?
    Thank you in advance.

I would start with Zapier. I’m not sure if you’re referring to building the Zaps (connecting apps together), or building app integrations for Zapier, but the answer is the same for both.

The tutorials are good, there’s a ton of other learning content in the internet, and a big community.

Also, it is a lot more limited than Integromat, so less likelyhood of getting lost in the process.

When you’ve exhausted the possibilities of Zapier, then start on Integromat.

Great stuff thanks for the insight! And for the record I was referring to building the zaps.

Interestingly, since I became a solo founder my productivity shot up. You are right it is lonely and I think what you are offering will help a lot of solo founders. Hope a lot of connections are made.

Oh, for the most part, me too. But, the longer I go without interaction, my motivation drops.

Fellow solo founder here, I've been working on my saas https://getforest.io for the past 1.5 years. Let's chat!

Love to! This has gotten a great response, so I need to figure out how to actually work this. I think, for now I'm going to post up a SavvyCal link and people can book times. I'd love for it to be more real-time, going to have to figure out how to do that.

Aside, love your website - super clean and elegant - very apple-esque, if you don't mind the comparison. Big fan of the whole system-font thing. Need to check it out on windows and see how it looks.

Hi Edward! Would you be able to help with a quick code review? (swift)

I'm a solo founder using freelancers to build my iPhone app and want to make sure that the critical components are in good working order.

Hi Edward, I would love to partake in what you've offered. Maybe we can chat more over email?

I'm currently running a database of curated & summarised growth strategies from indie founders at GrowthHunt.co. Would love to get some feedback on it!

    Cheers!
