Everyone's trying to give “actionable insights” these days. Maybe.
“Startup lessons from pre-internet era companies”
“Timeless wisdom from pre-internet era companies”
I'm really not happy with either. I think there's something to play with the longevity of the advice. Check out the Lindy effect.
Essentially, most newsletters have all the up to date hacks that are here today and gone tomorrow. Your stuff stands the test of time. Maybe that could be worked in?
Decided to make a move: now I'm sharing more about my experiences, problems, achievements as my latest 2 posts got more engagement than the ones about pre-internet companies. Hope this will help more people.
"Replace email in your company" makes sense when you already know what Slack is, but if I had never heard of it before, I'm not sure that would be very compelling.
Imagine you hear about a new project that promises to "replace calendars in your company." Sure, I believe it's possible to do something better, but I get a lot of value out of my calendar, so you're going to have to tell me a little more before I'm tempted to replace it.
I think there is something to this too @harrydry. Brevity and the ability to coherently communicate what your product or service does in as few words as possible is of growing importance in a fast moving online world. It is certainly easier said than done though. Definitely something for Indie Hackers to strive for when communicating their business and value proposition!
yes. unfortunately it doesn't. cool site. but it took me about 30 secs to figure out what the hell was happening.
originally i thought you were selling a phone haha!
if traffic is coming to this page COLD - simplify simplify simplify
if they know your product from twitter or something, then you might be able to get away with a more elaborate title. But I still would go with something the stuff on your twitter bio
I agree it is very clickbaity but it's also rather true imo
Again I agree, the automation is the USP. Unfortunately, automation in the mvp isn't overly significant - therefore I don't want to lean on it too much for fear of people leaving upon false promises. Automation will come though, for sure, and more than what I have already promised.
You call BS now but I promise you @harrydry Spread will triple your content output - just wait a lil ;)
I will carry on thinking of a better post it now slogan...
Hi Harry,
Yes, the simpler the better. I’m also open to suggestions to mine.
My newsletter
First half is cliched. 2nd half is good.

Many thanks Harry! Will have a think how I can leverage my newsletter's benefit to subscribers. At the moment is confusing to explain.

Were you inspired by my tweets on this same topic? 😂
I decided to try this for https://www.partizion.io/

Don't judge me to harshly, it only spent ~45 seconds on this
It's a bloody hard and bloody good piece of advice.

Or
Let's create phone history
Mowned.com. it makes no sense at first glance? 😁

Haha, funny! 😂
Thanks, actually that's a great feedback :D.
The site target is phone freaks (I am one)

I think this works. Got me tempted
"Create more of your content"
Would this work for https://www.spreadtech.online/ ??
Nope. I read that and unfortunately I don't intuitively get it!
The title on your website, “INSTANTLY TRIPLE YOUR CONTENT OUTPUT” is better. But it's a too click-baity I think.
People are skeptical about this kinda thing. I'd lean on the automation you're doing. It fits into our narrative better.
If someone told me they could “triple my content output” I'd call BS. Maybe something like:
The easiest way to ... “Repurpose your content across social media”
but can still do better for sure
I agree it is very clickbaity but it's also rather true imo

Interesting, I see the value in conciseness you’re promoting!
