IH: Browser Extension Makers. Round 2

Hiya fellow makers. Below is the second weekly email from our maker email list. If you are not part of it, please sign up to be featured. You may sign up here -- https://www.indiehackers.com/post/how-about-we-help-each-other-pinned-22d91fa2e2

Hello fellow addon makers.

Thanks for the responses and reviews for the inaugural submission and it's time to continue. Thanks for the reminders!

A note on the purpose of the list:
This list's intention is very simple. Once a week (or two 😇) you will receive an addon link and email address of the maker of this addon. Ideally, please install the addon and provide the maker with your thoughts on the user experience, idea, business plan, constructive criticism, or any other comments you have directly to the maker. Additionally, please ensure that you have rated the addon at least on CWS, AMO, and Edge web store. I will be tracking the progress of these.

Special thanks to Tony and Petr for taking the time to post a public review. As such, their submissions will be next ones in the list.

Tony is the maker of BrainTool and his original post describing the addon and product is here: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/a-braintool-for-personal-productivity-b896327f24.

The main website and the addon are available here https://braintool.org/ and https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/braintool-beyond-bookmark/fialfmcgpibjgdoeodaondepigiiddio

Tony could be reached via his email here: [email protected].

nice initiative, I was not aware of this. I'm very close in releasing my MVP extension product. Will sign up when I've released it!

Hi, thanks for starting this initiative. Will definitely try out your featured extensions and give feedback as much as possible.

Meanwhile, I wanted to share with you that we have started an Edge Addons Dev Community within the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors program. We have student ambassadors who have joined this community from across the world and who are interested in learning to build addons.

I can introduce this group to that community and see if those community members can also contribute to your initiative. I am sure they can learn a lot by reviewing other's extensions as well!

DM me on Twitter @varadarajans - we can discuss how to take this forward.

Hey @varad_msft, can you comment how the featured add-ons are selected on the edge store? Thanks!

Devs can request to get their addons featured via this form - https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbRw01UwyBfAxNna_1ZkP3X2VUN0lBSU1YMEU3VFY0VURRODEwSjgwU00yRy4u

You can also check out https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/extensions-chromium/publish/contact-extensions-team

The exact criteria of choosing an addon to be featured is not shared publicly. But one way of ensuring that you get featured is through https://partner.microsoft.com/ or https://aka.ms/MSFTEDU_ISVGTM
