Increase your conversion rate with an explainer video

As the saying goes, "Show, don't tell." Explainer videos allow you to show off your product and make its value clear. Boost sales by adding one to your homepage.

Explainer videos are short videos that explain what your product is and how to use it in order to clearly convey its value. They're a huge asset, with some sites seeing a 144% increase in their conversion rates just by placing them on their homepage, landing pages, etc.

To get started, Benjamin Davis of Habit suggests deciding between live-action, whiteboard sketching, and animation. Then write your script and make sure to include an overview of the product, key features (and how they're used), the problems your product solves, social proof, and a call to action. Keep it short, 90 seconds max.

How to do so?
1 . Broke
Do voiceover yourself using Audacity. Add free audio from Freesound. And make a video using free video tools.
2 . Ready to improve your SaaS
Hire a voiceover artist from Fiverr or Bunny Studio. Get premium music from Audio Jungle. Finally, make the video yourself or hire a professional that can do this job for you.

Think big or think small? by @markmanx
It's generally accepted that thinking big is a lot sexier than thinking small. Steve Jobs is sexy, Gates is sexy, platforms like Netflix are sexy. But for those of us with our own product ideas to add to the world (on bootstrap and often with only a few hours a day on the side of our full-time jobs), our constraints often mean that we should be focussing on small problems but executing the solutions really, really well.
In other words, think small first. Get that hurdle over and done with. Then think big as it's never too late to think bigger.
P.S Anyone can think big, but so few can get over the initial hurdle, whatever that may be: the first customer, the first $1,000 in MRR, etc.

What should I do when my users don't answer? by @jackneatab
1 . Instead of saying "What do you think of my product?", ask questions like "What would make this product work better for you?", or "What are you trying to accomplish with this product?". If you can tailor your message based on their engagement or what they've accomplished so far, even better.

2 . Occasionally, add an incentive like a discount by @azarai

3 . Remember that the follow up is key. A lot of customers that love my product ignore my first email. But, when I follow-up, then they remember that they forgot to respond and will respond. I highly recommend using some sort of follow-up email strategy (I do a combination of snoozed emails and Hubspot custom follow up sequences) by @harris_osserman
