Hi.
I would like to know if IndieHackers.com has an official chat like slack or such which could be used to quickly get in contact with members for times when a post is not the appropriate medium or a quicker response is preferred.
It would be nice to have a real time conversation some times.
If not I could setup an unofficial chat in slack or discord if there is an interest in it from the community.
I am aware that it would mean that some information would not be indexable because it is in a chat.
Also the ability to send chat messages within indiehackers.com would also be a great addition in my opinion since not every social interaction benefits from a post and is more private, for example teaming up with an indie hacker requires exchanging contact details. I am aware that this could create a few spam messages, however I don't think that would be a problem because I have not experienced any spam so far.
@AntCas runs a great one at https://indieworldwide.co/
Thanks that look interesting, will definitely check it out.
I'm part of a bunch of slacks/discords that are unofficial IH ones.
Problem is they usually die off once the creator gets bored/busy.
I would think about why you want to create one.
Communities are HARD work, I can understand why @csallen and team haven't created a slack/discord yet.
Makerlog and WIP are good communities on top of telegram. Both are slightly difference audience than IH though.
I can understand the difficulties in maintaining the chat community platform. I just wished that a more dynamical faster interaction could occur between me and other indiehackers. @designsingh brought to my attention that there is the indieworldwide.co community, so that seems interesting, even though I would have preferred that it primarily was the same people on indiehackers that would use the chat such that a personal connection could be established.
