Indie Swaps!

@alistairtweedie's post for a free email sponsorship slot reminded me to see if indie hackers can help each other grow by doing swaps.

It also reminded me of how a similar tactic was used by @harrydry (he gave a free sponsor slot to EmailOctopus, I think?). In reality things like this feel like free, but it can often end up becoming a win-win scenario as natural reciprocation kicks in.

So if you have something you can offer, leave comment below with what it is and the kind of things you'd love in return.

It could be:

  • an email sponsorship
  • a back link
  • a blog post
  • a social share
  • a free account to your product
  • what else?

It would be uncool if this turned into a spammy/scammy thing, so I'd encourage you all to act and think with thoughtfulness. 😇

Off topic but I just wanted to say you're doing a great job! I love your content! Impressed with that you got Patagonia too!! Keep up the amazing work!

There's a couple of facebook groups that have the same idea. Here's a couple of barters I've done:

    1. Housing for a month for a website
    2. Liveaboard tour for a company website
    3. Help build a garden for veggies for a month

If you are a non-profit, I'll build your site for free in exchange for a thank you.

    I could do :
-simple graphic design (no 26 page annual reports, pls)
    -help with writing/editing
    -feedback on product or service
    -usability assessment

For what I want.. anything that can contribute to these bad boys:

-I am looking to increase social media engagement for my startup via twitter and instagram.
-I am looking for therapists and patients in the Philadelphia area to join/visit my platform

Nearly! In the early days @coreyhaines and I "sponsored" each others marketing websites. Went pretty well.

Hey @rosiesherry any plan to do this again?

    1. 2

I can do, if you like? Perhaps once a month? And maybe create a page/spreadsheet to list them?

      1. 1

That would be really awesome mate! I am also thinking of making a slack group of only highly-concerned people (so as not to make it spam and annoying and work-distracting). Let's catch up via email shall we?

        1. 1

Not sure I can handle another Slack group, but I could create an Indie Swaps group here on IH.

Thanks for the great idea @rosiesherry!

I am looking for some beta testers for my upcoming app Summerian. It's an app that helps summarize non-fiction so you can consume a book in less than 15 minutes. I'm going head-to-head with Blinkist in this field, so definitely need your help with feedback!

Please DM me if you want to become my beta tester and I'll help you with advices in copywriting, launching a new app and paid marketing.

I would be happy to consult any indie hacker about any engineering problem they have, to help to find the best solution.

We're more than happy to interview almost anyone who is "giving it a go" at Growth Rocket. You don't have to be a mega star with 100k a month rolling in or a billion dollar start-up. Everyone who has trodden the entrepreneurial path has insights to share. We'll quite happily link your website and social media in the article. We're only babies ourselves, but free publicity is free publicity, right?

    This is a stunning idea.

    I can help with...:

    How can you help me...?

    • Guidance regarding sponsorship.
    • Guidance regarding how to build a newsletter.
    • Honest feedback regarding Colors & Fonts.

Thank you everyone and have a great day !

I can help with any questions about:

    • Javascript (react, nodejs, etc)
    • Integrations (Stripe, analytics, etc)
    • Landing pages, marketing sites and CMSes (design, setting one up, etc)

    What I need:

    • Casual chats with anyone who runs a 2-sided marketplace.
    • What you use for analytics.
    • Discuss top challenges you are facing with growth.

If you offer any type of warranty - I'm happy to build out your "category" and add you to the trustfuss.com warranty review and rating site (currently covering electric skateboards, sleeping pads and tents).

If your warranty is "above average" in length compared the category you are in - the site autogenerates a badge that you can use to backlink. Otherwise I'd be happy to work on a backlink badge...

I could offer a 'shout out' in our weekly newsletter that's sent to approx. 22K Subscribers.

Our subscribers are people interested in travelling, working and volunteering abroad. Ideally, your product or service would need to be inline with our subscribers interests.

In exchange, we'd like a 'shout out' about our service via your channels. We're open to other suggestions too.
