Fellow IndieHackers,
My friend and I will be starting a SaaS business that I have been brainstorming for years now (Building internal software tools for the HVAC industry). This an exciting step, however, owning an online business is a new realm that I have never explored!
I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on software tools that help you manage your company. This includes managing finances (Quickbooks?), ideation (Currently using Notion), tracking projects (GitHub Issues/ Notion), etc
If you are a 1-5 person company, I would love to hear from you.
Thanks!

I’m building out a suite of tools for micro SaaS makers. Don’t have anything built out yet but would love to hear more about what you’re looking for!
I would be happy to share my thoughts. Ultimately, I suppose the first thing I would find most useful is a blog post or article that talks about someone’s experience starting a micro SaaS.
What did they struggle with?
What did they learn?
How would they do it differently next time?
This is probably basic stuff for most users in this community, however I am brand new to this. Luckily, this community is also a great source of information. I discovered “Startup Owner Manual” by Steve Blank and Bob Dorf. (Again, this is probably common knowledge lol)
As far as building a suite for micro SaaS companies, I might not be the best person to ask, because I have no experience with a micro SaaS.
I am happy to help as I go along. I can say that the previously mentioned book has already taught me a lot.
If it’s one lesson I’ve learned from the book so far, it’s easy to ignore customer feedback. Perhaps an application could be built that reminds founders to prioritize customer validation.
Just a thought
