Is become Java Freelancer is worth?

Is there any Java Freelancer here?

I think my title is clear enough about my intention, I want to become Java Freelancer.

I have 5 years experience as Java Developer work as full-time on enterprise or startup company. Now, I really want to become Freelancer to have more time with my family and not spend it on commute and office.

However, in my country, it's very rare to found Java Freelancer and even on here I didn't see one with title as Java Freelancer.

It's possible for me to switch into freelancer or I need to learn trending programming language such as JavaScript?
