Is it feasible to sell a 3 month old software business?

I am wondering if buyers would be interested in buying my
software business with only 3 months of financials?

  • The business is a one time sale product, and is a desktop app.
  • There is decent, and consistent monthly revenue with very high margins.
  • Maintenance for the product is very low.

The best option I have found for listing so far is https://indiemaker.co/. I'm not sure if there are better alternatives out there, or if a real broker would be willing to try to sell a business doing only 2-3k monthly.

Hey Austin, yes you can try selling on Indiemaker or Flippa. You will get far more views and have a much higher chance of actually selling on Flippa.

But don’t expect a high multiple. After all, it’s only 3 months worth of revenue. Very easy to do revenue masking at this level, and hardly “consistent” as you say.

No brokers would enagage at that level, and you don’t need brokers anyways as they are increasingly irrelevant. Reply or DM me if you want more info, help, or advice.

Hi there, thanks for the response. On flippa it looks like you can only specify an iOS or Android app, or a website. My product is neither, it's a Windows/MacOS desktop app.

Gotcha. Do you have a website URL at all? If so choose "website" and you'll be able to list.

If you don't have a URL, we'll be removing the URL requirement shortly. In the meantime yep, I would recommend IndieMaker.
