Hey everyone,
I think one of the most interesting things happing in web3 right now is the use of memes as a major, if not the most important, marketing tactic.
Every NFT collection out there has meme contests and is pushing the community to create memes and spread them, incentivizing them with rewards like free NFTs and money (ETH).
The major things I saw in these contests that made me think it can be VERY impactful in marketing are:
Memes are basically the atoms of virality, they are meant to be shared and it can be seen in a lot of web 3 projects, once the users get an incentive to create and share them, it's almost unstoppable.
it's probably the most simple way out there to let the audience and users express themselves creatively with your brand, without asking for much. It's a simple action, almost frictionless, and considers to be fun by most.
My favorite thing about it meme marketing is that your users can become more than just users, they basically get a chance to co-create with you in a fun and engaging way.
Communities are all over now, but I think the real marketing shift is that consumers are becoming participatory ( IMO, it's one of the most impactful changes of the 21st century)
Would love to hear more ideas and thoughts about meme marketing!
I built a (FREE) tool for anyone to create meme contests and let their audience create memes and (maybe) win a prize.
It's a basic memes + incentive app, and it's completely free (it's a drop of a bigger project I'm working on)
So if anyone wants to check it out - https://www.engagememes.com/
P.S. - it's the first version, if anyone has suggestions for iteration, changes, or any kind of feedback, I'd be happy to hear.
