I've decided to shut down my SaaS for collecting feedback and reviews after 6 months of talking with users and no traction

I've decided to close down my sideproject, https://feedbackwise.com. Unfortunately, I was not able to get traction after 6 months and it's time to move on to other ideas. Here is a post mortem:

  1. FeedbackWise was built to help small businesses get feedback and a review from their customers with a quick and simple process. (Primarily built for business owners that have a relationship with their clients such as real estate agents, photographers, etc...)

  2. There was already a lot of competition in reputation management so I knew there was a market for this product, however I felt that most of the software was too expensive, bloated with too many features for most small business owners, and surveys took too long to complete.

  3. Marketing a product like this on a low budget required a lot of cold outreach, sales calls, demos, and follow ups. This required way more time than I had to dedicate with just nights and weekends.

  4. Additionally, these prospects also valued some of the different features I offered, but didn't think the competition was painful enough to make the switch.

  5. After 6 months I was no longer having fun with this project. FeedbackWise is a kickass Bubble app so I will keep it in my private collection of apps to reference for design and functionality ideas.

  6. It was a hard decision to make but moving on opens up the opportunity to work on new ideas. I'll document and post my journey into the next project.

    Hello @stephencharles,

Sorry for that but still great to have courage and take hard business decision. How many customers you were able to get?
Also, why not sell the project to someone else?
