Just earned the first 100$ from a ProductHunt launch!

Hi IndieHackers!

I want to share how I earned my first 100$ ever for a digital service, and all in 1 day. We launched today on ProductHunt https://www.producthunt.com/posts/growthclub and since then we closed 2 customers - 50$ is already in my stripe account and 50$ is on the way.

GrowthClub is a peer to peer coaching platform for founders. In GrowthClub gain focus, improve execution and manage stress through curated weekly meetings with fellow founders. Online. We did it all without writing a single line of code and launched on ProductHunt.

Initially, we charged 5 $ / month but we realized that the higher price may mean a higher quality of founders and a bigger paycheck for us. So we went bold with ProductHunt launch and set a monthly price of $50. I almost didn't believe it will work but thanks to my co-founder we stood the ground.

We made nice mockups, making product look as it is already a well-featured platform and launched. Most of the users would book the first coaching meeting but refuse to pay. We would then have the meeting anyway for free with them. This way we earned our first 50$ - after the trial meeting with me, the founder said 'Sure, I will pay!'

Just a few minutes ago we earned another 50$ - someone paid right away after the signup. This was especially unbelievable.

As a technical founder, I was always underpricing my products. Now I really learned how higher pricing not only gives you more revenue but also improves the value of the service, especially if you are making a community-based product. Hope this will be useful for some of you!

P.S. Now I will probably have to code sleepless all the features I promised so that the customers won't notice the trick.
