Just launched my first app. Looking for feedback πŸ‘

πŸ‘‹ Today I launched my first official app πŸŽ‰!

It helps developers get their app icons in SVG format and all resolutions for different devices in seconds. I wish I knew about apps like this when I was making a mobile app πŸ˜€. The difference between my app and others is its simplicity and the ability to convert to SVG. Also, it is completely free, but I am having a donation button for the people who want to support me.

I decided to post on different sites (Twitter, Reddit, ProductHunt ...). The goal of this is to get some initial traffic and hopefully help someone πŸ‘. In a future post, I will talk about the results from the launch πŸ˜‰

Can’t wait to hear your feedback.

I'm getting a timeout on your site right now. Too much traffic?

Weird :/ I can connect. Maybe it's because I use Heroku and if there is no one for some time the server goes to sleep state. Then when someone connects it can take some time to wake up but it should not be long πŸ€”

Yes it does. I used imagetracerjs but it is kinda bad if there are angles so I switched to Potrace for tracing the images.

          Thanks for the feedback!

I don't know why but the last few days it falls not in deep sleep but it goes to winter sleep bear style :D I will see if I can do something.

I think it is a good idea to put a message for optimal resolution or something.

The distortion is to be expected for some images. There are just too many different resolutions πŸ˜€.

For the svg it works best with black and white images. Till last week I was using a tracer that can trace different colors and stuff. But it did a bad job with angles/circle shapes. I might add a option to select which tracer to use. I guess it is to be expected when you use free image tracer and you don't want 50mb files and for it to be fast :D

Yeah, the illustrator tracer is amazing but it can't work on a project like this because it takes like 10 minutes to trace an image on my laptop. While the tracer I use for the project works almost instantly :D

Aligning stuff and making it look ok on mobile and different resolutions can be hard, especially if the project is more complex :/ Same goes to you, don't give up πŸ˜‰

              Good luck πŸ‘
